It looked like a blowout, till the Colts last drive of the 1st half and since then it's been a barn burner.

Jiffer on the edge of his seat no doubt! :)

That was a great game !

Wow what a game, a terrific comeback by the Colts. Peyton gets the Monkey partially off of his back, he still has to win the Super Bowl to get it completely off of his back.

Down 21-3 and win 38-34 that's outscoring the Pats 35-13 over the 2nd half of the game. Solid win for the Colts.

Interesting that the annoucners said it was like a Sauna in the Dome today and that the Pats were getting worn down on defense because of it. Quite a different picture from the Bears/Saints game.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is Brady's last appearnce in the AFC championship game for awhile, some of the key Pats on defense are getting older (Vrable and Brusci) and trying to continue to reload with players nobody ever heard of will get even harder.

Congrats to Sid and all the Colts fans on the board!!

Great game, Jif! The Pats are a great team, but tonight belonged to the Colts.

What a nailbiter....Peyton throws an INT for a TD.........the Colts come back from a 21-3 deficit......the seesaw 2nd half.........Peyton jams his thumb......the "King of the Comebacks" moves the ball downfield with seconds to go....then the interception.

    A record comeback.

    An instant classic.

A great moment for the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana.

So Sid do you agree with Dungy that they should just go ahead and play the game in Ft. Wayne? :) Is Ft. Wayne 1/2 between Chicago and Indy?

No one does better than the Pats at finding talent and reloading.
They do need better wide receivers. Caldwell is not the answer and may have cost them the game with his drops. If NE scores a TD instead of a field goal , they are only down 3 on that final drive.

Congrats to Sid and all Colts fans.

It was a great game to watch and filled with lots of drama and momentum shifts.

I don't think that's completely fair...he's shown his mettle. Sure, if he never wins a Super Bowl that will be one thing missing from his resume, but I don't think that he needs to prove anything...especially after that gutsy performance today.

I have been away from any TVs from 7am until just 30 minutes ago. I got to watch the last 3 minutes of game time.

Congrats Peyton... one big one under your belt and one huge one to go.

What a great game. Manning sure showed his greatness tonight as did Brady.

To bad one of them had to lose.

The Super Bowl has to be anti-clamatic after this game.

Peyton did show his mettle today and doesn't need to win the Super Bowl to prove anything but it would complete his resume.

Rex was good for Rex....no mistakes and workmanlike.

Brady was excellent but came up a tad short....but his defense was the real culprit.

Colts should be favored by 2 points.

This duel between Brady and Manning will be shown for years on the classic sports channel. This was one "classic" that really lived up to its billing. The two best firing away at each other until only one was left standing...wow!

Great game. Don't feel too badly for the Pats. I believe they have a ton of salary cap room and two high draft picks coming up.

Terry, that was cool when Dungy said it, but actually, South Bend or Lafayette is closer to halfway. Plus, we don't have a football stadium that seats more than 5,000.

Thanks, Andy. It's very exciting just to have your home team going to the Super Bowl. To win would be phenomenal. I once owned season tickets in the late 80s-early 90s when the Colts were bad, but I gave them up when I couldn't get to the games from Ft. Wayne and couldn't give them away.
Terry, I know you are a dispassionate analyst - and an excellent one - but for these 24 hours folllowing such an exciting victory for us locals, you hold the title of party pooper.

    "Caldwell lost the game"

Granted he dropped one in the endzone but on the next play Gaffney caught the TD.

On his other drop by the time Brady got the snap off....an interminable amount of time given that Caldwell was all by himself.....it didn't look like Caldwell could have gained more than about 7-8 yards.

What lost the game was a tremendous show of heart and talent by Peyton Manning and a Pats defense that wasn't up to the task after a furiously well-played 1st quarter.

Did anybody see Bill B. snub Peyton after the game? He didn't look like he had anything to say to Peyton. Didn't even look him in the eye from my vantage point.

Didn't mean to be a wet blanket. No doubt Peyton is a future HOF QB wheter he wins the Super Bowl or not, he's one of the greatest QB's ever.

I'm just saying that right now he's in a category with Jim Kelly, Bud Grant, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Jeff Bagwell, Ernie Banks.....great, great, great players/coaches all....who never won the big one. I'm sure he'd like to be in that other category with Brett Favre, Joe Namath, John Elway, Joe Montana, etc...

    Yes...

<t>It was a great one. Also happy for Houston't Sharpstown HS Joe Addai for the clinching TD. Did anyone see the replay of the block on Wilfolk that sprung Addai for the winning TD. Folks that was a pancake beauty.</t>

Bill B. is a great coach who si equally adept at being a jerk. These traits are well documented.

I hope you know I was just pullin yer leg, Doc. You've always been aces in my book. Heck, anyone who can sit next to me for an entire ND football game has to be a good guy. :) :)

I understand exactly what you mean relative to all the great players you mentioned.
