    Has announced that she is suffering from dementia, but that she will continue to coach...."Said Summitt: "There's not going to be any pity party and I'll make sure of that.""

    Very sad diagnosis.

    Very sad indeed....for my money one of the great coaches of all time, at any level, in any sport, any gender ....

    I had the good fortune and great honor and privilege of meeting her during my time in Tennessee. An extraordinary lady by any measure.....

    Tremendous coach and icon at Tennessee. I certainly wish her well meeting one of life's difficult challenges.

    That is terrible. Hopefully the medications and mental exercises will allow her to keep functioning well.

    Very sad.

    She is a class act.

    A coaching legend, who's good for the kids. I hope she lasts a lot longer.
