    Hey Sid...

Remember how I told you that the Cubs got the better of the trade? Forget it. There's a rain delay in Cincinnati right now, with the game in the 7th inning and Maddux is pitching a no-hitter in his Dodger debut...

Oh yeh...thanks for giving us Maddux...

    ......Yer pal...DD

I'm listening to a guy named Andy hosting a call-in show on the Red's station (WLW) during the rain delay. They're talking about Maddux's potential no-hitter.

This guy's a real character. He's a Broolkynite who hates the Dodgers for leaving Brooklyn - said it felt like having a lung removed - yet we wants to see Maddux get the no-hitter.

That guy is terrific, Rick. I get WLW loud and clear up in Ft. Wayne and I occasionally listen to his call-in show. I have some family roots in Cincy, so I can relate to his style. He's entertaining and bearable, at least for me as a midwesterner.

Congrats, JO'Co. Maddux must be one of the most likeable and respected athletes on the planet. He's 110% class. In a weird way, I'm glad the rain ended his night at 6 scoreless innings and gave his Dodger debut special meaning. I don't think he could have gone the entire 9 with a no-no. But who knows? Stranger things have happened.

Me and my partner drafted Maddux on our fantasy team. He quickly went 5-0 with and era under 3. Then he went 3-11 with a era of about 6. On our last drop add we exposed him and one of the other teams took him. In the two games since then he's 2-0 with an era under 1.00.

I thought you were being a bit harsh on him JO'Co, he's a gamer.

I liked him, Sid. I'm normally not much for call-in shows, but Andy was witty and very personable. All of his callers had a very friendly tone with him, so I got the impression he's pretty well-liked.

And now a message for Dodger fans :D

Neither Maddux or Clemens both 1st ballot HOF have never tossed a No No.

    Odd.

WLW 700 AM. The Big One.

I can sometimes get them on the car in NJ and that's a 600 mile shout out.

His name is Andy Furman and he is entertaining. Since you guys are fans, I got you an autographed photo.

Thanks, George. I never would have thought he looks like that. I don't know what I thought he looks like, but that's not it.
