Jeanne and I are indeed on the road again. We are in Kansas City with my sister and brother-in-law. We leave here Wednesday for Houston where we will visit our grandson, his wife and our new great granddaughter. On the way we are making a stop on Thursday for lunch in Austin with Tom and Cindy and then lunch with Terry on Friday. Then Monday week head back to our mountain in North Carolina. Life is good. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Gdlyi5mckg0" frameborder="0"></iframe>
As always Bill you are my hero in what I hope to do one day...Please give our love from Skybox and then give them a hard time as well... Be safe....
Safe travels Bill. Be careful when you enter the great state... we've been having some weather lately... and it looks like it might continue this week.
Terry, where we met with the McCords last time would still be fine by us. We are staying at the same La Quinta right across the street. Somewhere else would be fine also.
Gah! You're going to be about 25 miles from me on your between Austin and Houston depending on the route. When you headed through, and which route you taking? I may be able to meet you for a quick bite as well!
Kelsey, I am not sure this will post, but here is the Google Map of our route to Houston. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Austin,+TX/La+Quinta+Inn+Houston+Cy-Fair,+13290+FM+1960+West,+Houston,+TX+77065/@30.1317342,-97.8049252,8z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x8644b599a0cc032f:0x5d9b464bd469d57a!2m2!1d-97.7430608!2d30.267153!1m5!1m1!1s0x8640d111e4f78fdd:0x8dbce5f852e153e3!2m2!1d-95.6182795!2d29.9172431
Kelsey, I think it posted ok. We will meet Tom and Cindy for lunch in Austin and as best I can tell we would leave Austin for Houston along the route in Google Maps. There seems to be some options very close to Austin. Let me know what you think? We do need to meet our grandson sometime that day but there is some wiggle room.
Well this confirms what we all suspected, that once in a while the mods get together to plot against us. (Especially Corey  )
Thanks Bill, yep, it posted. Where Hwy 6 meets 290 is about 30-45 minutes from me. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to break away during the day. However, I may be able to come down and crash your luncheon with Terry instead. I have Terry's contact info so will work through him (assuming you don't mind) to see where we'll end up.
Kes I hope you can make it. I'm looking at around 1 pm for lunch. Somewhere in the Hwy6/290 area. We met at Texas RoadHouse last time when Cindy and Tom came down but they aren't open till 4pm. Also not sure about all the rain headed our way and increasing flooding.
T, I assume you mean the Southeast Hwy 6/290 interchange, not the Northwest one by Hempstead? Either way, I should be able to make it Friday for lunch. Yeah, there's supposed to be heavy rain again the next couple days.
Yes, I always forget that there is another Hwy 6 that goes from Hempstead to College Station...I wonder if the section of 290 that connects the two segments was once just Hwy 6. Otherwise it makes no sense! I wonder why it's not Hwy 159 from Hempstead to College Station. Bill is staying at the LaQuinta at the SE Hwy 6/290.
Let's all try to meet at the Goode Company BBQ it's right there on the corner of HWY 6 and 290. The Texas Road House where we met the last time doesn't open for lunch. Say we meet at 12:30 or so?
