    On a game related note:

Nick Saban is the coach of the year. I have heard all year from some of my more 'realistic' Tide fans that 2 things are true about this team that no one understands...

    1. They have no depth, and if the injuries ever begin to mount, they are dead in the water.

    2. Terrance Cody is the backbone of the defense which is the straw stirring the drink of the team. From the moment he was carried off on a cart, the game did a 180.

Over the year to date, I've seen glimpses of what they've talked about but today it was in full view for all to see. Saban, to an extent, is doing this with mirrors....

This is Nick Saban's first 7-0 team...

    Ole Miss fell to 3-4.

Okay, we did it again. I have to look at the statistics by quarter but it seems that we usually predominantly run the ball and take what the passing game will gives for the first half, then turn to the pass more in the second half, I guess in an effort to not "sit on a lead". I may be wrong but we sure seem to have a lot of 3 and outs in the second half. We are 7-0 and I think we are a year, maybe two, from being fully stocked, but our first half scoring averages are something like 31-3 and our second half average is like 3-30. There are a few possibilities for this. 1)No depth so we get tired in the second half. 2)The other teams (all of them?) make the right adjustments and we don't. 3)We make changes that don't work. I would like to experiment just once with running the same 1st 15 plays in the second half that we run in the first half. I wonder what would happen. Like I told Corey before, Saban is not running up the score, he is just trying to get far enough ahead in the first half so he can hang on in the second half.

Mississppi has played and lost a lot of tough, close games this year.

In one of those ( Florida ) they could have lost another tough one but a stop on 4th and one and a blocked kick gave them the W instead.

The Rebs should be an out for the best teams.....but a tough out at that.
