    Something about this "new" format that turns me off. Yes it shows you who is ON at the present time and has some extra features...but I cant put my finger on it. Is it just me? jif

    I like it, Joel. Hang in there. You will like it better after you get more accustomed to it.

    Count me as a vote of approval

    <t>I like it. <br/>
    <br/>
    I have noticed one quirk that people need to know about: <br/>
    <br/>
    When you make the 30th post on any topic, it gives the appearance that your note did not go through. The issue is that the system is set to display 30 posts per page. When the 30th post is made, the system creates the 2nd page with no messages on it and shows "no posts exist for this topic". When you return to the board, you see that there is now a "page 1, 2" entry under the topic name. Select page 1 and you see your message and the 29 before that one. The 31st message will start populating page 2.</t>

    Tennessee Tom,

    Thanks for that explanation. I ran into that this morning.

    Two things among others that I really like about the new software: 1) the indication of which topics have new posts since the last time I logged in. It saves me a lot of time vs. the old system, and 2) the ability to preview my posts before they are submitted. Although I try to proof my posts, I tend to miss mistakes when I re-read what I've written. The preview function is an additional step that helps me to get things right the first time.

    Come on Joel,

    Don't you think we know by now who is on in the morning and who is not at night?

    Look at all the smileys and all the fun you can have adding a signature like this.

    You can use this for your Yankee posts.

    Short memory Joel, this time of year is always very very slow for the Skybox. Football done, recruiting done, not really that much of a basketball board and baseball not started up yet.

    I don't think it's got anything to do with the new format.

    Re: Hockey

    I saw my second NHL game yesterday in Chicago, Calgary Flames @ Blackhawks. My college roommate has season tickets, row 3, even with the home net. Like any sport that you can't appreciate unless you are up close and personal, I am in awe of the speed and physical nature of the game. The players clearly are among the top athletes in any sport. The checking is every bit as jarring as 98% of the hits I've seen in football. I've never been a hockey fan, but through my friend I have learned to respect the game and its fans. I have great difficulty following the puck and seeing the penalties as they happen, but the excitement is contagious. It truly was a very enjoyable experience. Unfortunately for my friend, the Blackhawks suck.

    Someone mark this post. Another fine example of humans behaving like dogs.
