Why didn't they just draw a line top to bottom on the Far West part of Indiana, instead you guys have a pocket of Central Time in the NW and SW parts of the state.
 Terry the best I can surmise are the NW corner folk "look towards the windy city".....sw folks towards kaintucky and illi, the folks in the se always looked to cincitucky. I for one wish every citizen in the state would call our "one term wonder" of a govenor at 2:59 am on the second of April and remind him it is time for him to "spring his clocks" ahead
Whobe, I looked at a Map and I can't for the life of me figure out what economically is going on down in the SW that the area would want to be tied to, there doesn't seem to be any city of size to anchor any economic zone. I guess maybe the better question is why the West Central wants to be in the Eastern Time Zone.
My only answer is stubborn I guess. Hell I've lived here 23 years and still don't know what the deifnition of "Hoosier" really is. The time change deal really does have a lot of people steamed including "yours truely". History says that in colonial times a flag was raised that said "Don't Tread On ME" My guess is it must have been a" Hoosier flag maker"
Terry, Evansville, IN, in the SW corner, is closer to St. Louis than to Indianapolis. I don't like the change to DST after 35 years of EST, but I'm an old fart set in my ways, which doesn't interest Mitch the B----, our governor. I understand 6 of the 7 the NW counties close to Chicago being on central time. I also understand 7 of the 11 SW counties being on central time. I don't understand the rest. The actual determination was made by a federal agency after the state made the decision to change. We'll adjust. We have no choice.
