I'm not giving up! It's only June 16!! Yanks are in first place with all these injuries.... I can't ask for more than that. Pitching is a major concern but with all the disruption you play 'em one game at a time. Boston and New York are tested tough. Toronto still has to prove it over the long hall. Hang in there.
George is right. It's still early. Players get healthy. Other teams will have to deal with injuries as well. You won't give up on Charlie and your Irish after their first loss will you, Joel?
:!: This is waaaaay to early to figure out anything. At this time last year, I had Terry's Stro's dead and buried and they won the pennant! Two years ago at this time, I thought the entire Detroit franchise had died, but look at them now; with new players, coaches, a new ballpark. They'll be winning games in Detroit for another 100 years... The Dodgers have a completely different starting lineup now than they did on opening day. In fact, tonight we play Oakland and it turns out the Dodgers only have 7 players on their entire roster who ever played with A's outfielder Milton Bradley! Nothing is decided, because all these teams will change again before the end of the year. We haven't even gotten to the inter-league trade deadline yet! There will be some big trades before we get there. Vinnie said it best last night, "The teams that will win this thing are the teams that upgrade the most between now and October." .............DD
Jifferooski! Since you posted this topic, in effect surrendering your season, the Red Sox have not lost a game. Proclaim the following to gain absolution: "My name is JIF and I am a schmoe!" What are you guys trying to do... lock up the division by the All Star break?
Go figure George. Best fielding shortstop in baseball ( one error). 21 errors all season ( Tops in baseball) Entirely rebuilt infield. Youk at First playing Gold Glove ball and hitting the hell out of ball. Manny never been happier and wants to end career in Boston. Coco back form injury and proving that he can handle CF every bit as well as Damon..plus he can throw!. Trot having career year. Wells Clement still on DL. Kiddie corp have come up a year or 2 early and doing the job. Kapler's return to clubhouse is big big big. and lets not forget Big O
