    Kid sounds pretty good.

Perhaps the most wanted JUCO recruit in the country is coming to Nebraska. Defensive end Simi Kuli, 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds, gave an oral commitment to the Huskers on Tuesday, according to his junior-college position coach Tim Hyde.

His decision came in the same week other recruits are backing away from the program due to the uncertain futures of Husker coaches.

The strongside defensive end is rated as a five-star player by both Rivals.com and Scout.com.

Oklahoma, LSU and Texas A&M were among the schools that courted Kuli, who Rivals ranks as the top junior-college player in the country.

Kuli had 50 tackles, five sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery in 10 games last season for El Camino.

The Huskers now have 24 known oral commits. They would have 25, but heralded running back Jonas Gray de-committed from Nebraska this week and said he’s going to Notre Dame.

Kuli is eligible to play two more years.

24 oral commits tells me that the cupboard is far from bare. You guys will be OK under the watchful eye of St. Thomas of Osborne.

I guess this is the other side of the Oregon situation. This time the athlete reneges on the commitment. Is this fair? Should it be viewed in the same light as when the school reneges?
