Buckeyes nip Badgers 20-17 and end Wisconsin's 16 home game winning streak! We scored on our first possession and looked pretty dominate in the first quarter. Wisconsin comes back and appeared to be stronger in the second and third quarters. Pryor scores on an option play with just a little over a minute to play. Badgers, who had a great deal of success through the air, threw an interception on the first play of the last drive. Beanie Wells had a great night, but our offense had trouble scoring in the red zone. Trepasso, our punter did an outstanding job. Don
Freshman QB leads a drive to win the game in front of a hostile crowd on the road...pretty impressive. As Stu would say, that's Tressel Ball! Congrats on the win.
Was a really good game... Disappointed in our defensive line, but then I keep reminding myself of the size, talent, and experience of that Badger O-line.
Agreed Stu with one caveat.....Wisky O-line ain't that damn good. It seems we miss Gholston more than I had anticipated. The weakness of this team - defensively - has been the interior of the dline and our inabilty to pressure the Qb from the down 4. Coach has experimented by bringing in a little quicker pass rushing ends inside, but it seems as if they are a little light in the a$$ to plug the middle -v- the power game and keep people off Laurinaitis..... Offensively, TP showed that he's a freshman and had a lot of growing pains but in the end also showed that he is a very, very special player....take over late in the 4th on the road in Madison against a pumped up Badger team and crowd, drive your team the length of the field to win and not p!$$ down your leg.....he reminds me more and more of VY every time I see him....
Hey I want to thank you OSU guys for letting a few Ohio boys a year out of the state. Kyle McCarthy of Cardinal Mooney is fast becoming my favorite defensive player for the Irish. Something about those kids from Mooney I really like, he's got a younger brother who is also on the team and he's redshirting this year as a freshman but supposedly has an even bigger upside than Kyle! Terry
A great, great football tradition up there.....they are one of the perennial stalwarts in Ohio high school football. Among the alums are the Stoops boys of Sooner and Wildcat fame as well as one Bo Pelini now on the sidelines in Lincoln.....and for you boxing fans, Boom Boom Mancini is a Mooney grad - I bet he was a b!tch on the football field!
