A win is a win, but we really have some growing pains. Tressel surprised me by starting Pryor and Boeckman just getting a few plays. While Pryor threw for four TDs a record for a freshman at Ohio State, and rushed for 66 yards, our offense really sputtered with penalties. Play calling was very close to the vest today. Hopefully things will settle down a bit with Minnesota in our next game. Don
You have to figure that since Boekman didn't hardly get in the game at all, that JT is going to go with Pryor the rest of the season. He has a lot of veterans around him and a great defense so it gives the kid some cushion.
I don't think Tressel is just throwing the season away to get Pryor installed as the number one Qb. I believe you will still see Boeckman in the Big Ten season but definitely in a split role. Yesterday was a great opportunity to get Pryor some much needed work.
Hey who says you can't be successful with the right Freshman QB. Pryor looks to be a special talent and I'm not sure it's throwing away the season to start him. Especially when he may well be the key to the next couple of seasons.
I think the key factor is that he would be a freshman on a team loaded with Vets to steady him. If he gets Wells back and he's 100% then that also makes a tremendous difference with having a freshman QB. Terry
No question, we miss Beanie Wells. Boom Herron rushed for 94 yards, but he is not a power running back. We need to cut down on the foolish penalties. Tackling against Troy was very poor as well. Don
Looks like we have the dawning of a new era.....the Terrelle Pryor era. WOW.....a returning senior, beat M took his team to the national title game, 1st team all-conference, led the league in passing efficiency, elected captain looks like he's been shown a seat on the bench by the much ballyhooed freshman. WOW Hasn't happened in my lifetime. Last freshman to start at QB was Schlichter in 78.... Surely looks like that has happened....Boeckman took two snaps Saturday...one a handoff to the tailback, the second a badly underthrown pass for which he was booed mercilessly  ugh.....the poor kids confidence has been shattered....it appears as if he's lost the fans and the coaches confidence as well...as for the remainder of the team, who knows? There will be growing pains with the young one while he learns to be sure.....indecisive on his reads, but he has a gun, but when he tucks it away, he sure reminds you of VY! Scary good runner....scares me when he throws it.... It's early, let's see how it plays out.....but it's clear this team is still emotionally spent from the trip to LA and needs some fire from somewhere.....
