Gorgeous day for our spring game yesterday and a new attendance record set with 100,189 in attendance.

Gray team defeated the Scarlet team 28-17. New freshman QB Joe Burrow certain solidified his position as backup to J.T. Barrett with his dazzling performance.

A lot of talent out there for the Buckeyes on both sides of the ball.

Coach Meyer seemed pleased with the results and that is what counts.

It looks like another promising season is on tap for the Buckeyes,

Give him another year to build up the talent base at UM and that Ohio State/Michigan game is going to be more like 2006. Maybe even a different outcome! :)

Yes sir, a flash in the pan has the NCAA already acting as the henchman stopping the flash for his latest innovations. You'd think that those big bad southern conferences wouldn't give him a second look.

Hell Gip, the NCAA suspended Julio Jones for a game or two for going on a fishing trip on the Tennessee River. You're not going to get much sympathy from us when UM take 100+ players to a semi-pro private high school in Orlando.

A school who was on probation from 2002-06 and then from 09-12 probably has first hand knowledge of life in the "semi-pro" fast lane.

    Bobda,
I know you were taking a shot at Alabama and that is fair enough. My point is that why is it okay for Harbaugh to take his whole team to a semi-pro high school? Just seems like everyone is okay with that. As a matter of fact y'all are pissed at the SEC because the NCAA banned remote camps?

The real reason was that the SEC and ACC didn't want Harbaugh near the semi-pro high school in their area. Sometimes it take years for the NCAA to get to an issue. And then there's this....

BTW there will be a lot of disappointed Michigan fans here in the Villages. Many went over to Orlando for the open practice Michigan ran. They had to turn away folks when the parking lots filled.

    KP,

Harbaugh has done nothing that violated NCAA rules. Since he became head coach he has been working 24/7 to make Michigan an elite program again. Some of the things he has done are unconventional, some have been creative, some silly, some over the top, but given the results of this recruiting class, it is pretty clear he is getting results.

    Bobda,

I have to agree with your comments. Looking forward to some great competition from both universities. GO BUCKS!

Bobda, I respect and admire your ardent support of your head coach. Because of my ongoing respect for you, I henceforth will keep my opinions on this subject to myself (not that anyone cares what I think). FWIW, I believe he is in the process of returning Michigan to the top of the heap in the Big 10.

    Don,

I see that former ND player Chase Hounshell will be playing his 6th year at Ohio State. He never did too much for us at ND, had a lot of injury issues which is why the 6th year. He was a DL most of his career but last year he was moved to TE, mostly a blocking TE was only thrown 1 pass all year I believe (which he caught). I think he is going to be a walkon for you guys. Good luck to him, he has 1 year in Grad School at ND and should be able to finish up his Masters at Ohio State this year.

I have no doubt that Harbaugh will get Michigan back to being an elite program. Also no doubt he's ruffled some feathers, but I think he knew that and so did his bosses when he took the course he did with recruiting. But all legal

I've made more than a few observations that I didn't exactly like the way Saban did things..his "managing" the roster so that every year he could bring in a lot of recruits. But everything he's done has been completely legal. Even the oversigning that BuckeyeT used to complain about so much from SEC teams especially.

But things have changed so much with regards to recruiting things I used to think my team was above are now done by my team. I used to think it was unethical to recruit a kid who had already given his verbal to another school, now it's common place and kids routinely give their verbal and then say they are going to continue to take visits to make sure they are making the right decision. They used to take visits and then make a decision. I used to think a parents should not allow their kid to give a verbal unless he was ready to stick by it, now parents in many cases seem to encourage it.

Anyway...Harbaugh is going to make the Ohio State/Michigan game pretty relevant again. I wonder if Dantonio is going to be able to keep up the success he's had with Michigan back in the game.

That is an amazing turnout for a spring game.

The Gators had 46,000, the best in several years, and we thought that was amazing.

    Terry I agree about Harbaugh.

But I also have to say that I am glad that the NCAA banned the practice of going to remote sites.

    Terry,
We are in pretty good shape at the tight end spot, but it never hurts to have an extra body and experience.
