Must win for the Buckeyes if we want to play in the BCS Title Game. I feel fairly comfortable with our offense, even though the Spartans have a terrific defense. My primary concern is with our defense, after our dismal effort against Michigan last week. Should be an interesting and entertaining game. GO BUCKS! :
This game absolutely means a shot at the BCS title for Ohio State.... no ifs, ands or buts. http://cfn.scout.com/2/1353233.html The above analysis tells it like it is..... and I might add that last season's unblemished record was not for show only.... it solidifies the notion and consensus opinion that Ohio State will NOT be leap-frogged by a one-loss SEC champion. Without last year's 12-0 record I do believe the debate would be hot and heavy... a one-loss SEC team or 13-0 OSU. That said... this is no pushover... no gimme for the Buckeyes. I am close to picking the upset.... but I'll go with Meyer's OSU 27-24 OT
Tim, Amazing how we all tend to have strange bed fellows at seasons end, with teams trying to jockey for bowl bids. Dave, I look for a close game also. Interesting article on your link.
I'll be very interested to see how the MSU Defense holds up vs the OSU offense. We saw MSU early in the season and we haven't had a good offense at all this season and didn't manage much against them other than win. They were still trying to figure out their offense and didn't do much against our defense either so 17-14 was the final score. Since then they have settled on their QB and as most good teams they have gotten better as the season progressed. But they still aren't an offensive juggernaut. So it'll be strength against strength in the MSU D vs the OSU O and weakness against weakness in the MSU O vs the OSU D. Maybe a complete opposite of the UM/OSU game...17-14!
All bets would be off if it were a one loss Alabama playing for an SEC title and trying to leap frog Ohio State. But it's not.... they aren't and won't be. All Ohio State has to do is do what they have done 24 times in a row....and that's get the W.... something they have done dating back to.... wouldn't you know it..... one of the best wins it turns out in the Will Muschamp era.... a Florida W over the Buckeyes in the Gator Bowl. Who woulda thunk that the Buckeyes wouldn't lose again for two seasons after that?
Looks like some nasty winter weather coming in for the game. Good thing the game will be indoors so to speak! Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis
My older daughter's family is going to the game. She works with a guy who is an MSU alum and played football there. He got tickets to the game for her family of 6. Guess who they'll be rooting for? Sorry, Don and BT. I can't go because I'll be babysitting my youngest grandson while his mother (my younger granddaughter) is at work, but I'll be watching on TV.
I'm 100% solid for the Buckeyes. I think they jump to a surprising quick early lead and win by something like 31-17.
I really don't want to see a SEC team sneak into the game, so I'd like to see Ohio State win and take on FSU.
I am expecting a relatively low scoring game. We are not going to score a lot of points on that defense. George always tries to make me feel better. Key factors in the game will be turnovers and that could easily determining the winner.
MSU fans are worried that some critical calls will go against them. For some reason they think that the conference might want a team in the NC game.
I am the proud owner of an MSU BA degree. Class of '49. Bring help from the ghosts of Biggie Munn, Duffy Daugherty and others. We will need it. Go Sparty.
