SI preseason <r>Terry,<br/> <I><s></s><br/> I was very thankful that SI <U><s></s>DID NOT <e></e></U>rank ND #1 and put the jinx on them like that have so many times in the past for other teams. The most memorable was when they had Arizona at #1 and they ended up having a God-Awful season! Even though the cover shows Brady, Tom and Travis, I understand there are regional covers so we may not feel the full effect of the <e></e></I>SI cover jinx!<br/> <br/> Go Irish!</r>

Wow, Gonzo has two SEC teams first and second, and the Gators in the top 10. the world must be ending.
I know LSU ran miami off the field, but isnt #1 a little high. Clemson and auburn are prob. a little to far up their as well. Heres my top 10: No Gator Bias 1. Ohio State ( Offence is too good) 2. N.D. 3. Texas 4. Gators 5. LSU 6. West Virginia 7. Auburn 8. Miami 9. USC 10.Sooners
Miami is not a top ten team because there are too many parts unproven, namely the QB is still not comfortable, the O-line is completely overhauled the linebackers are new too and, although everybody is raving about true frosh Sam Shields at WR.....there are no game-breaking receivers. Running bakcs are all beat up.....new coaching staff Only strong point right now is the D-line and secondary, both best in the country....the rest is a big questionmark. Get past FSU in the opener and the schedule favors Miami as all tough games are at home....but......I am not convinced even then that we have a bona fide good team this season LSU is hot and comming off destroying us in the Peach Bowl.....I like their aggresiveness......Auburn is cohesive, great QB and strongly coached with a capable O-line UF has amassed more talent than either FSU or Miami in the last three years....landing Tebow and others will catapult them back into SEC contention......this year wie will see just how good Urban Meyer really is with his own players....he's got the prime of the litter. Ohio State looks invicible in offense and Michigan and Notre Dame are due for great upsides West Virginia in the Big East does not impress me since that conference has gotten so seasy with Vtech Boston College and Miami leaving. Texas and USC have both to fill big gaps while Oklahoma is the ringer as they seem to be ready for big things this season in a weak conference. The Gonz The Gonz
