Well we are off again, not any hurricane stuff but heading to Raleigh for a week to participate in State Senior games. We are entered in 3 bowling events. Doubles, mixed doubles and singles on Mon, Tue and Wed. We get to stay with our son and his wife while we are there so that's a major plus to an already fun week. The senior events are in age brackets and we will be in the 80-84 which cuts down the competition quite a bit. However with the way I am bowling, bad, I am not optimistic. After that Friday we head to Kissimmee to stay with one of our daughters for a week and attend the Tennessee game, then head to our other daughters house in Jacksonville and we will go to the Towson State game on the 28th and then celebrate her birthday on the 29th. Leaving for home on the 30th. The Tennessee game is at noon which makes us kind of unhappy. Much hotter in Florida than North Carolina and the heat bothers Jeanne. Hope it clouds over and cools a bit.
So that tropical disturbance out in the Atlantic is going to invade the area we will be staying and traveling. Going to Raleigh Monday then down I 95 to Daytona then West on I 4 on Friday. Yeah we do our share of traveling.
Thanks JO'Co. There has been a change, they are checking to see who would be available to go to the Northeast Thursday if the storm out there now hits. I don't expect anything to come of this but we did put our name on the list. Would have to miss the two football games if that happened. My bowling game has sure deteriorated in recent years, I guess age takes a toll??
Well have to give an unhappy update and then probably won't be back on for awhile as I am pretty much expected to just be quiet and rest. We arrived at our sons house Friday night and the next thing I remember is lying on the ground and being attended by emergency people. I have no idea how it happened but I feel from his porch backward and hit the back of my head hard and suffered a pretty bad concussion. The porch was about 2-3 foot gall and my head was up higher at just under 6 ft. I ended up at the hospital ER was released but had to go back and stay two days. I am to stay quiet at home, my sons house, and not allowed on the computer much. Have double vision which is going to require some care. This will be the last time I post until things are further along, but I will eventually update. Oh I missed the bowling. Later Gator Bill
Falls can be a problem Bill, concussions can be troublesome. Wishing you a speedy recovery. If it's any consolation I took my wife to the emergency room Sunday for an eye problem . Checked her in parked the car and on my back to the ER Facility, I tripped and fell into the concrete street. No broken bones but bruised up quite a bit. So much for the Golden Years.
That’s terrible Bill, hoping for a fast recovery...Don I hope your bruises heal up quickly. You guys are making me nervous as I approach the Golden years...
Hope you get back on the alleys soon Bill. My closest friend fell on ice last winter and hit his head. I've seen the fall from the video from his ring doorbell. Pretty scary. I hope you bounce back quickly. My buddy was not so lucky.
Been in the hospital 4/5 of the days we have been here. Back at our sons hose but pretty immobile. Came home this after noon. Have an appointment with neuro eye doctor tomorrow than on Tuesday with a nerouligist. See if we can get to the bottom of this. The worst pain right now is m sciata which I believe was the cause of the fall. Regardless in many ways I am better but stilll long way to go. We are in Raleigh at our sons house and most likely won't return to Franklin until at least Oct 22.
