That's actually the title for a L.A.Times article, I thought that Negro had joined the N workd the F (Faggot) word, as things you can't say anymore. Obama
This is the unfortunately cynical view of one black person who obviously harbors deep-seeded resentment borne out of wrestling with his own identity. Why else would he put down the work of the great African-American actors of our generation? Why else would he trivilialize Obama's intelligence and gift for effective delivery? What I find interesting about this piece is how divisive Obama's candidacy is within the black community. It is one of many interesting aspects of the endless primary campaigns we are being subjected to now and for the next 12-18 months.
Actually, Obama might be joining the Domer contingent on this board... http://www.rte.ie/news/2007/0315/obamab.html
Speaking of using the "N" word, a great clip from South Park http://www.dumbie.com/335/South-Park-uses-the-N-word.html
That's the first time I've seen it. I laughed so hard I had tears. It's hilarious. Is it typical of South Park humor? If so, I need to start watching.
South Park humor is very topical (that episode followed the Michael Richards incident), very over the top at times, and willing to take a shot at anything or anyone. I love it.
Well Sid there is always "The Super Adventure Club" Alas poor Chef....I knew him well! Then there is the North American Marlon Brando Look Alikes
I've taken the first step. I've saved the link to my favorite places. I'll check it out when no one's watching.
I have said this before <t>I will say this again. It may be sad, it may not. Say whatever you like, but for my money, there is no greater weekly op-ed on contemporary American culture/society than South Park.<br/> <br/> This show has been so horribly misunderstood by so many for so long that it amazes me people still don't 'get it.' They have a strong distain for the religious right, and perhaps a much greater contempt for the holier than though 'intellectual' left.<br/> <br/> It has never been a children's cartoon, ever. They tackle issues from God to the disabled to various political flashpoints of the moment. They have constantly taken the criticism dumped on them, and turned it back around on their critics tenfold.<br/> <br/> When the original reviews of their show stated that it was nothing but 'bad animation and potty mouthed, fart jokes', the characters Terrance and Phillip were born. They are simple bubble characters that are poorly drawn. They are 'Canadian' entertainers who do nothing but tell dirty jokes while farting on each other. When interviewed about Terrance and Phillip, the creators of the show said 'They thought they saw bad animation, with profane fart jokes....Well we said no...this is bad animation with profane fart jokes.'<br/> <br/> I did see a rather entertaining interview with Matt and Tre (the creators of the show) recently in which they were lamenting their own private "Twilight Zone" moment. They've spent the bulk of their career trying to piss off the overly pius while trying to push the boundaries and show the hypocrisy of the FCC. Well, they've reached the point where they can't be stopped. The arguments they have made are so sound, they've reached a point where they can't be touched...and they are bored, stuck in their own private hell. No more windmills to chase, they are just left tackling social issues, waiting for someone to take their crayons away. Do yourself a favor, get Netflix and rent the seasons..Call it your new hobby. You will cry some more</t>
Well they have not touched the Prophet Mohamed, or at least that's the one thing that the Cartoon Network won't show.
