Chris "Tingles" Mathews melted down after the debate...

    Matthews on the Debate

    Home - by BigFurHat - October 3, 2012 - 22:44 America/New_York - 20 Comments

What was Romney doing out there?

    “He was WINNING.

    He was WINNING!!!”

MSNBC summary – Romney destroyed Obama. Not on substance, but on optics.

They are pissed. They are so disappointed in Obama.

They said the college kids in Denver were stunned.

    Lawrence O’Donnell -

“We don’t judge who the winners of these debates are.”

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

    This means Romney destroyed Obama.

Cutter Concedes Defeat: Romney “Absolutely Wins The Preparation, Wins The Style Points”…

She also makes the bizarre claim that it wasn’t Obama’s “specific purpose” to win the debate. Huh?

This what happens when a man who walks the walks meets a guy who can only talk the talk.

Obama looked like a lost child next to Romney. It was clear that Romney has fried bigger fish than this in the past.

The visuals were stunning as Romney looked directly at Obama when he spoke while Obama looked at the floor or at the moderator as he spoke.

I don't want to say Obama was wounded last night, but John Kerry who was supposed to be preping him gave Obama one of his Purple Hearts.

Let's hope this makes a major difference.

If not the country is in a heap of trouble.

I am sure looking for the polls that come out over the next week.

Awesome: 67 Million Watched Obama Get His Ass Handed To Him Last Night, 28% Jump From 2008 Debate…
    [IMG]
    Humiliation on a grand scale.

    Via WaPo:

More than 67 million people watched the first presidential debate of this election cycle — nearly 15 million more people than watched the first presidential debate four years ago.

That 67 million, however, falls very short of the Mother of All Presidential Debates: the Oct. 28, 1980 smackdown between President Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, which had drawn a whopping 81 million viewers.

About 12 million of the 67 mil who watched President Obama square off with GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney at the University of Denver were aged 18-34 years. Nearly 31 million of them were 55 years or older, Nielsen reported Thursday.

The debate was carried live across 11 networks; Telemundo aired it on tape delay.

In a tight race at the top, ABC appears to have, once again, snagged the most viewers to the first presidential debate of this election cycle — like it did four years ago. About 11.25 million people watched Romney vow to axe Big Bird, on ABC.

Andrew Sullivan In Hyper-Meltdown Mode After Polls Show Romney Beating Obama…
    [IMG]
Look on the bright side, Sully, Obama will always be the “first gay president” even if he is a one-termer.

    Via Andrew Sullivan/Daily Beast:

The Pew poll is devastating, just devastating. Before the debate, Obama had a 51 – 43 lead; now, Romney has a 49 – 45 lead. That’s a simply unprecedented reversal for a candidate in October. Before Obama had leads on every policy issue and personal characteristic; now Romney leads in all of them. Obama’s performance gave Romney a 12 point swing! I repeat: a 12 point swing.

Romney’s favorables are above Obama’s now. Yes, you read that right. Romney’s favorables are higher than Obama’s right now. That gender gap that was Obama’s firewall? Over in one night.

Seriously: has that kind of swing ever happened this late in a campaign? Has any candidate lost 18 points among women voters in one night ever? And we are told that when Obama left the stage that night, he was feeling good. That’s terrifying. On every single issue, Obama has instantly plummeted into near-oblivion. He still has some personal advantages over Romney – even though they are all much diminished. Obama still has an edge on Medicare, scores much higher on relating to ordinary people, is ahead on foreign policy, and on being moderate, consistent and honest (only 14 percent of swing voters believe Romney is honest). But on the core issues of the economy and the deficit, Romney is now kicking the president’s ass.
