NU rush offense vs. Colorado rush defense The Huskers averaged 5.8 yards per carry in back-to-back wins over Kansas and Kansas State, and added quarterback Joe Ganz as a threat against the Wildcats. They've had at least 160 yards rushing in five straight games. Colorado is decent up front and has junior Jeff Smart leading a solid linebacking corps.

    Advantage: Nebraska

NU pass offense vs. Colorado pass defense Colorado leads the Big 12 in passing defense, allowing 214.1 yards per game, and teams have thrown just 14 TDs on the Buffs. CU opponents, however, are completing 63.8 percent of their passes, and efficiency has been one of the Huskers' strengths. If Ganz gets going in his final home game, the NU quarterback might be hard to stop.

    Advantage: Nebraska

Colorado rush offense vs. NU rush defense The Buffs have had to get things done behind a patchwork offensive line and two freshman tailbacks (Rodney Stewart and Darrell Scott). Now Stewart is done for the season and Scott is trying to play through some injuries. Colorado has managed just eight rushing touchdowns, six fewer than anybody in the Big 12.

    Advantage: Nebraska

Colorado pass offense vs. NU pass defense This is where CU has been at its worst, completing a league-low 56.2 percent of its passes and not being much of a big-play threat. The Buffs will play both Cody Hawkins and Tyler Hansen, but neither strikes much fear in a defense. Nebraska has started to get its pass rush going, and parlayed it into nine sacks the past two games.

    Advantage: Nebraska,

Special teams Colorado ranks last in the Big 12 in field goals (5 of 16) and kickoff coverage, and in the lower half on net punting and kick and punt returns. Nebraska has been mostly unspectacular, although it is second in punt return average (14.2 yards). If somebody needs a big kick, NU is better off with Alex Henery.

    Advantage: Nebraska

Intangibles The Buffs have been victimized by injury after injury, and that toll is starting to show with three losses in the last four games. They haven't won a true road game all season. Nebraska has maybe its best momentum of the season and will be honoring 21 seniors before kickoff. If you believe in payback, the Huskers also have a chance to deny CU bowl eligibility after the Buffs did the same to NU a year ago.

    Advantage: Nebraska

Key matchup Watch the Colorado situation at safety, where it finished the Oklahoma State game with two freshmen. Senior Ryan Walters is questionable and senior D.J. Dykes is doubtful, which can't be good for CU the way Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz is reading defenses.

Nebraska will win if ... It plays anywhere near its performance of the past two games.

Colorado will win if ... Its defense, heavily burdened already, can come up with a huge effort.

Our take One team is finishing strong and the other is sputtering home. Nebraska still isn't playing complete games, but it's had some pretty good ones since mid-October. The Huskers have rebounded from that whipping at Oklahoma but aren't yet to the stage where they can take another Big 12 team lightly. They'll be up for the Buffs.

    Nebraska 38, Colorado 13
