    LOL. I once brought in a Western Canadian Bell telephone from the 1890's for my students. It didn't even have a dial. It had a crank to ring the operator who would then connect you manually on the board. The kids couldn't understand why it didn't work like their cell phones. The purpose of telephone poles and wires were a mystery to them...

    I am sure that if those two kids had watched me during computer training at work, they would have concluded I was suffering from dementia but it is fascinating to see how their skills at problem solving were molded by modern technology e.g. picking up the receiver of the phone thinking that would "reset" it.
