I spoke with pops last night and asked him what it's like being married that long, he replied, "I don't know, let me ask your Mother".
Congratulations to Mert and Fern, two wonderful people whom I had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with in KC. We all should be so fortunate to live lives like theirs. AJ, are you the "Andy" in the signature line?
Happy anniversary Mert and Fern... where ever you are (With my best Jimmy Durante voice) I talked with your father at the KC outing about longevity of marriage. Your parents have Cindy and I beat by a mile (hard to be married 60 years when I'm 51 and Cindy is ... er, uh, 29... yea, that's it... 29) I told him that my secret to 26 years of marriage was to learn real early to say "Yes dear" whether I mean it or not.
Happy 60th anniversary to your Mom and Dad, AJ! It was really a pleasure meeting them in KC. Your Dad is a true gentleman and your Mom had me cracking up with her jokes and wisecracks. My best wishes to a wonderful couple.
Interesting trivia I learned from Fern in KC. Her maiden name is the same as her married name. AJ, should we call you Andy from now on? Somehow, that doesn't work for me. It seems like it should be either AJ or SIR!
That's real nice. Even us hardcore east coasters get emotional when we see something like that. Congratulations!
she wasn't supposed to talk about that Sid... I came out Ok though, it's just that little stutter I get every once in awhile....
I sent this link to mom and pops, they said thanks for all the kind words. BTW, Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen was born the day they were married......for those that care...
Happy anniversary to a very nice couple who we had the pleasure of meeting this summer. And many more.
