Ryker Fyfe. Should be the starting QB for NU. Much better passer than Tommy, 6-2 and can run also. Use Armstrong out of the backfield, and add another TE or FB to the mix.

Embarrasing exhibition by the OL Sat nite. Plus Barney Cotton couldn't figure out that you needed 1 more blocker. Unbelievable.

But Bo knows better than anybody else in Nebraska. And proven by his blind faith in Martinez for 3 years, looks like we'll suffer with QB and OL woes until he get's it. If the Defensive genius ever does.

    Bo's no Dr. Tom.

Did you figure you'd get more reads starting a ND/UNC topic than a Neb/MSU post mortem! ;)

More importantly is Lackey work some of that Post Season Magic he's known for???? Need to finish off the Dodgers now!!

Yeah....LOL.....not too many Husker fans here lately....plus JoCo's holding his breath (as I am) until the NLDS is over to talk trash, so limited conversation for me lately....

I have no idea what Pelini's managing these days.....his temper or the coaches that need it.

In my minds eye, the Cards HAVE TO take tonites game, or the series is over.

As I posted in another topic. I was eagerly looking forward to the NU/MSU matchup sat night....then a whupping of Neb broke out and I gave up too soon. You guys had a good comeback...almost pulled it out. You could still run the table, the Wildcats of Northwestern are undefeated but I don't think they are in the same class as Mich State. The rest of your schedule are games you can win, not guaranteed to win but you can beat the rest of the teams. Wisconsin, how did they lose to Northwestern? Their RB goes off for 250yds and they lose. That's like your QB throwing for 750yds with no picks and you still lose. :)

Lackey needs to pitch his ass off tonite. Pitch not throw.

Yeah there's heart with Nebraska on the D line. LB's are non existent, and the corners refuse to turn and find the ball. i will give Cook some credo though, that boy throws pin point when he wants to.

Hey Diane, at least now he'll be home soon after he leaves school vs. the old hour+ (hour and a half?) drive.

:D Sid this is an honor the school asked 3 teachers to run this new special program for the school year. SO those kids struggling but trying get a little extra help wont fail and move on to high school. So no I don't mind at all and Yes I don't have to worry anymore about him driving the pass. it takes him 15 min to get home. ... Off topic.. but had to share we went to Hesperia High school game a couple of weeks ago he promised some old students who play football we would go to watch them play. As soon as we went into the parking lot all I heard is its Mr OConnor and kids all calling out to him. we got a good parking space close to stadium. then when we went into stadium He was rushed by students coming from everywhere wanting to say Hi tell them how they were doing and to thank him for his advice about High School He was my rock star that night. even during the game kids came up to say Hi and talk with him. It was so great to see this .. and the impact he has made on so many students. I am always proud of him but that night was special. We hardly got to watch the game. which Hesperia won... He knew most of the players cheerleaders and band besides the students in the stands/ It was a good time :) :) :)

    That's great stuff Diane!
Glad to hear the Mr is making a difference.

My wife gets some of that too, but not as much from the 5th graders.

Kudo's to JO'Co. He's a special kind of teacher and we all know it here because it's always a pleasure to read his posts here on the Sports Board or maybe even more so over on the Back Room.

Di, I'm not surprised, nor are the guys and gals here. Jim is a very special kind of person. He is blessed with an ability to communicate effectively with anyone, regardless of age or point of view. It makes perfect sense that his well-placed candor, communicative ability, and knowledge allow him to provide his students with an exceptional learning experience. I'm just glad for those kids that he chose teaching as his second career.

You don't have any worries. My Dodgers just went down the drain again. No surprise there. I saw Lackey shut down the Angels when he was with Boston and I don't see how anybody hits that guy. He's 6'7" with three nasty pitches in the 90's and he has a pitcher's attitude. Why the Angels ever let him go I can't imagine. Meanwhile, Mattingly is being out-coached, bringing in minor league pitchers and guys coming off Tommy John surgery who didn't play all year. As I feared, the difference between these two very good teams is the Cardinal's front office...

BTW- what in hell does any of this have to do with North Carolina? I guess I can't complain. I'm not going to watch the game anyway. My granddaughter's volleyball team will play Azusa-Pacific University on Saturday down here, so I'll go watch her instead. Her parents are doing it the easy way. They flew to Hawaii today to watch her team (Dominican University) play the University of Hawaii @ Hilo...

SOMEBODY GET ME A LIVE CHICKEN NOW!!

I'm not buying that for one second JoCo....that's you trying to put reverse Voodoo spin on the whole thing....one thing I've learned about the Cards is that they're specialists at blowing series leads when it looks like they're gonna win out...not gonna get comfortable until that last out in the 9th...nope, not gonna do it......

DOC!! Need some help....you got any farmer friends?
