Another road game, that before the season started and we were all believing the pre-season hype that things would be better on defense....this was counted as a win. Not any more.

I don't know anything about NC State other than they are 3-1 with wins over William & Mary, Old Dominion, and Wake Forrest. Losing only to East Carolina.

Their QB completes passes at a 72% clip and has yet to throw an interception. Their top RB's avg 5.8 and 7.3 yds/carry and they avg 12.5/yds per pass play.

So maybe another shoot out? Or has Kelly/Hudson's new approach with playing a lot of guys going to lower the points allowed. They definitely did better in the 2nd half vs 'Cuse.

Oh and Hurricane Matthew could factor into this game.

Uh oh. We're in deep doo-doo. NC State beat Wake Forest who beat Indiana who beat Michigan State who whipped our butt. Using the MCG line of reasoning, we should be a 4 TD underdog. :D

Weather worries increasing, Friday night is a possible game time. This is looking a lot like Clemson last year.

Tonight at Alumni Stadium, Notre Dame and Indiana will settle on the field who has the best football program in the state. The #1 ranked Irish take on the #6 ranked Indiana Hoosiers.

Of course we we are talking soccer here, Futbol! :)

    Q. Brian, has there been any talk between the two schools about an alternative plan if Hurricane Matthew comes climbing up the coast on Saturday?
BRIAN KELLY: We've talked at great length, Commissioner of the ACC has spoken with us about -- really everything is on the table right now. We've given them a window that we're available to play this game from 12:00 until noon on Sunday. We feel like anything after noon on Sunday starts to encroach on our ability to prepare for Stanford.

So there is quite a bit of flexibility. We feel like we've secured accommodations and flights and such to leave a big window of availability to play this game.

Hey I've given up that line of reasoning.

In today's college football there is no logic to anything it seems and on any given Saturday one motivated team can beat just about any unmotivated but far superior team.

It varies so much Saturday to Saturday that logical "if this then that" comparative analysis is out the window.

That's good news, of course a lot can happen that could change his mind. Will Fuller was coming back as well, and he made the correct decision to leave and now is a budding NFL star.

Saw earlier on TV that the path of Matthew may stay along the coast and veer east out to sea. I think that would keep it away from Raleigh.

I hope so Sid, not just to save a football game but the sooner it veers out to sea will mean less damage and maybe no lives will be lost.

Indy Star article linked seems to indicate that Matthew might be headed out to sea and that the ND/NCState game will be played in rain but not Hurricane force stuff.

Didn't watch, was taking advantage of the beautiful weather we had today to play a nice round of golf. But from what I read it was worse than Clemson last year and in fact the conditions got worse as the game went on.

Irish didn't score a TD, couldn't run the ball or throw the ball. less than 150yds of total offense. The game turned on a blocked punt.

Of course the call for Kelly's head is ratcheting up to a very high volume.

Things look bleak for the Irish for sure with Stanford and Miami on the horizon. At 2-4 the Irish could be looking at 6-6 as the best case and 4-8 as a real possibility.

Once again I'm puzzled. Why not defer the options? You're opponent will probably want to receive otherwise he'll have to kick off in both halves. You get the wind in the first and fourth quarter and you let them have the opportunity to turn the ball over first.

We're in big trouble. Kizer used the weather as an excuse. Winners don't do that. The weather was the same for both teams. This is not a team with a refuse-to-lose attitude.

This team lacks leadership and I am afraid I am talking about more than just the seniors...
