    Navy comes in undefeated and the Irish come off an emotional loss. Middies always are up for the Irish, sometimes I wonder if we are up for them.

    But as I said in another topic, I think it's helpful that we have already played a triple option team in Ga.Tech. Now I'm sure the Navy staff has analyzed everything the Irish did to defeat the Ga.Tech option attack and will game plan their response. So while BVG can use the same basic game plan, hopefully he'll have adjustments that anticpate what Navy might do to counter it.

    I expect that the Irish will score in the 40+ points range, we just have too many weapons for Navy to hold us down, but as always the key factor is you have to get points with almost every possession because if Navy is successful with their option, it limits the number of possessions because they typically go on very long and time consuming drives.

    I do wonder if we'll see So.Cal Freshman WR E. St.Brown getting reps instead of Corey Robinson?

    re: Corey Robinson

    E. St. Brown is a good one. I think Corey had better put down that ukulele and catch some passes...

    I watched NBCSN video on the Navy Game...it was called "Onward Notre Dame" Mutual respect.

    30minutes of review of the history of the Navy game. But I didn't think it was esp well done, it was more interviews of playes saying how great the respect is between the two programs than anything else. I would have liked more videos of old games with commentary than all the interviews. But I wouldn't call it a waste of time to watch, just not dramatic more ho hum.

    Mens Basketball tickets are free this year for Students. Student attendance at ND Basketball has been spotty, they show up for big games but not so much for other games.

    I wonder if they'll be free for the womens games?

    I didn't know that Fredrick C. Miller who was the grandson of the guy who starter Miller Brewing, played for Rockne and was an All American OL. He was apparently very innovative when he took over in 1947. He died in a plane crash in 1954. But was responsible for getting the Braves to leave Boston for Milwaukee.

    Somebody posted this on NDNation.

    Basketball season creeping up on us. Irish men and women should be pretty good, women esp.

    We need Tim's fire. He provides the fuel that runs the Skybox ND engine.

    From a pay article on ISD.

    Kelly aknowledged Keenan in he press conference and said he hoped Keenan wouldn't get the record at ND stadium, but that he was going to get it sometime this year.

    <t>It's the same old thing again. this game is a lose/lose for the Irish every year. If we win....so what it was Navy. If we lose...you lost to Navy? Win or lose we will probably have injuries as usual due to Navy's style of play. I know the tradition etc but I wish we could drop this game. I'd rather play anybody else every year instead. . Hopefully the boys are pissed about last week and take it out on Navy. Let's just get this over.</t>

    <t>Just a few observations on this game and other things:<br/>
    <br/>
    We came into the season and even up to the GT game with the college football gurus telling us "GT is like Navy on steroids". They play the triple option better than anyone and you know... ND always has trouble with Navy. Result of the game: NOTRE DAME smashes GT! Then the narrative changed and coming into the Navy game it was "Navy is the better triple option team, they play the offense even better than GT" whose coach created the crap by the way. Result: NOTRE DAME beat the hell out of Navy!<br/>
    <br/>
    Notre Dame Stadium...the place where the triple option comes to DIE!!! Screw that crap and the teams and coaches that run it. <br/>
    <br/>
    Anyone else want to drag there TRIPLE OPTION to Notre Dame Stadium? <br/>
    <br/>
    Oh by the way...Keenon Reynolds the Navy QB came into the game needing 4 more TD's to break the record. Let's see now how many did he get in South Bend? ZERO!!! aaaaaaaand he won't have anymore chances to beat ND. Finally after 6 or 7 years at the Naval Academy(seems like it anyway) he will graduate. <br/>
    <br/>
    This was probably Navy's best shot to beat ND in a long time. With Reynolds and company gone we can expect many years of 52-3 ND wins again. <br/>
    <br/>
    More later, got to get another drink:D</t>

    It was a nice win at home against a completely overmatched team. They run the option to perfection and it is not an easy offense to master, especially when you have no passing game whatsoever to compliment it. And yet they still managed 318 yards rushing and almost 7 yards per carry.

    One thing that consistently rears its head each week is the softness of our defense right up the middle. We can really be exploited up the gut. At the edge we are solid.

    I like Kizer more and more each week. Get well soon, Malik, or you may be known as the Wally Pipp of Notre Dame football.

    Prosise is really, really good.
