Normally I'd wait for someone else to start a game topic, but when I came across this 2 minute video from "West Wing" I had to post it:

Given that M is a 5 and 1/2 underdog and our bet is even up, I already warned him not to get his expectations up. He agrees and like me only hopes our boys can keep the score respectable in South Bend, a locale that has broken many Wolverine hearts in the past.

Plus adding ice cream to that perfect pie would be like slapping ketchup onto a Usingers brat.

Well besides a BAP and some Jellies there is a game this weekend.

I'm sure Devin Gardner will be licking his chops when he watches film of the ND defensive backfield vs Rice. He's much better than that Rice QB and Mich has much better recievers. I fear we are going to have to outscore Michigan.

<t>Well this is THE big game of the early 2014 season for the Irish and their fans. A lot riding on this game, a lot. <br/>
    <br/>
As Terry mentioned, ND may indeed have to score a lot of points to pull this one out. Michigan looked pretty good against App St. but I'm not sure that Rice couldn't do the same thing to them. they(App St.) were not good at all. <br/>

Night game in South Bend, the stadium should be rockin and with Golson doing his thing we have a shot.</t>

<t>I think I've been pretty patient up to now on waiting for a decision on the 5 players who have been suspended from the team but I'm getting pissed off now. Come on man...crap or get off the pot dammit!! Either they did or didn't something wrong and if they did, what penalties are being administered. We've waited long enough!!!</t>

She truly is an amazing person and very deserving of the honors bestowed on her. I'm wondering, if she didn't play soccer in high school, she must have played for a traveling club. Otherwise, how would she have been a "non-scholarship recruited" student-athlete? Interesting.

I see that true love has broken out here among our Big 10 "brothers." This has all the charm of a gay pride parade in Bakersfield. It's the love that dare not be named. I think I saw that movie...

I have no feel for this game. Gardner the UM QB didn't have a great year last year, except for the game with us where he looked ready for the NFL. We've been able to move the ball on Michigan when Tommy Rees was the QB, our lowest scoring game in the Kelly era was the year Golson was a RS Freshman.

2010 when we Crist went out we still scored 24 points and really only lost on a late drive by UM that our defense just couldn't stop shoelaces.

2011 Again we scored 31 points but lost on another late drive by Shoelaces, defense gave them that game. Although Tommy had a fumble going in for a score earlier in the game that would have made a difference. But to his credit with less than 2 minutes he drove the length of the field to put us ahead. But as before defense cratered.

2012 Manti Teo show, 5 picks, not much offense 13-7 Irish

2013 Devin Gardner show but we still scored 30 points, just could not contain Devin Gardner.

So this is potentially our best offense of the Kelly era, I don't know how this Mich defense compares to previous ones but we should be able to score. It really gets down to can Van Gorder come up with some way to contain the Mich offense, specifically Devin Gardner who has some big targets. I think that it can and will be a close game, as that is pretty much the history of the series. I just hope it's us with the late score to win.

Oh and I like the comment Kelly made when asked about Michigan playing the Chicken Dance after last years victory. No we'll just play the Alma Mater if we win.

Having Golson changes everything. I watched both teams last week and I can see the Irish putting up 30. Does the defense give up31+? I don't think so.

Besides playing well against us Gardner looked pretty good against Ohio St. also.
