An old rival returns to the schedule. They had an even harder 2016 than the Irish and their off season was a disaster with players getting charged with various criminal offenses and in general a black eye for the program. What stays the same, Mark Dantonio is still the same tough as nails coach who will no doubt put out a very physical team that will punish you on both lines. I have no idea if they are good this year, they do have a new QB and they are 2-0 against Temple/BC type of teams. So maybe they are good or maybe not. The Irish are favored to win the game by around 4 or 5 points. Kelly and Dantonio have a lot of history and I think Kelly has a slight edge at ND over Dantonio head to head. It would be even better if it weren't for that fake FG that they beat us with in E.Lansing in OT. That one hurt, and what's worse is that the clock ran out before MSU got the snap off but the officials didn't notice. Naturally I hope we win and continue to run the football, I don't expect to get over 500 yds running the ball again that's for sure. But I would like to see Wimbush start to have some success at throwing the ball, he doesn't have to turn into Joe Montana, but a quicker more athletic Tommy Rees would be nice!
Terry, I think "Tom" Rees would laugh at that, knowing how much quicker Wimbush is, on his feet at least.
ND <r>Yes it's our old friends from East Lansing on saturday. The team with the Roger Dangerfield complex and a coach who looks like <E></E> well, you know what he looks like. Yes I remember the fake field goal and the planting of the flag etc., etc. and I hope we beat the hell out of them! <br/> <br/> The msu students will be drunk and roudy at game time along with most of the rest of the msu crowd and it will be loud and obnoxios for a while but then reality will set in and most will be headed for the gates early as msu fades..... <br/> <br/> Go Irish!</r>
that place is a pit. These guys don't like us. It's another game in which I wish we had more prep for them, but it is what it is. This should be a punishing physical game.
If you don't have much to do, you can read this preview of the ND Mens Basketball team. It's not too long and a pretty good article. https://www.sbnation.com/2017/9/20/16337406/notre-dame-basketball-preview-bonzie-colson-mike-brey
Nice catch Dexter Williams! Everyone has been asking for him to get more touches, he looked good on that series. Irish 21-7!
Defense takes away a sure TD by MSU, great play by the dB to strip him and then recover it in the end zone
Answer the MSU field goal with a long drive for a TD. Dieon McIntosh has a great run for the TD 35-10 Irish
Notre Dame <r>God it feels good beating msu in their house... and beating them badly to boot. I could get use to this Defense!! <E></E></r>
Good win tonight. Great to see Wimbush throw the ball pretty well. Played some bend don't break defense in the 2nd half and very conservative offense.
