    The first big test for the revamped Irish. I hope to win, but I certainly don't expect to see the numbers we put up against Temple against Georgia. Kirby Smart was one of the best DCoord in the country at Alabama and I doubt if he's forgotten about defense in rebuilding the Dawgs.

    The questions I see are

    1. Can the Irish handle the Georgia running game, they have 2 NFL backs on the roster.

    2. The true freshman QB, can we contain him. He was a big time HS star at QB and supposedly came close to winning the job this fall. So he's got a lot of talent.

    3. Can the Irish OL contain that UGA defense, esp the right side where we have a RS Freshman and true Freshman manning the RT slot.

    4. In a close game can Justin Yoon hit a FG.

    If Justin Yoon forces us to watch his Chinese bow after every FG, should he be forced to commit hara kiri after a big miss. Or maybe just cut off a pinkie finger or toe?

    Just wondering.

    So the excuse for Yoon in game 1 was that the new construction has changed the wind patterns in the stadium and he's still getting used to them. :roll: :roll:

    One thing I noted is that he was reportedly a victim of tired leg during the spring which is why he didn't kick then. So he's back, as you can see by his kickoffs going into the endzone. It was thought that one of the other kickers would do the kickoffs to help his leg(s) stay fresh. That didn't last long.

    <t>I watched the Georgia/Ap St game. Hard to tell much from watching it. Ap St. kept shooting themselves in the foot everytime they seemed to be moving the ball well. Wasn't anything Georgia was doing but mostly self inflicted. They were overmatched from the git go but it would have been competative if they eliminated the big mistakes. <br/>
    <br/>
    As a result I don't have a feeling one way or the other on Georgia except the backup QB who will be starting saturday looked better than their starter.<br/>
    <br/>
    The Irish will have to limit their run game if they are going to pull out a win.</t>

    Georgia is going to be very fast and we'll have to attack the vertically, instead of the Kelly-preferred long drawn out plays around the perimeter. Their freshman QB was taking over for a guy who was a freshman last year who was put in that same position. He looked pretty good. Still, they have great athletes. If we stack the box against the run, they are going to attack downfield with their WRs. Our DBs will have to play a good game and our interior DL needs to get a push all night long.

    I think if we come right at them, we stand a very good chance of winning this game. If we try to get too cute, their speed will be a problem for us. Chubb is a monster back and we're really going to need solid tackling in this game.

    Pressuring Georgia's new QB is going to be the key. I think turnovers decide this one.

    Well, I hope that they're as successful as Temple was kicking our asses.

    LOL...I'm sure their coach just loves their confidence. Let them do the pre-game talking hopefully we'll get the last word.

    Still going to be a large Georgia crowd in for this game and from what I've heard Georgia fans are very nice when they go on these road trips.

    Funny quote from Kirby Smart
    For the record Buck Belue was the QB for the Georgia win over the Irish in the Sugar Bowl the only other time we have played, he was 1-13 for 7 yards. As we all know the Irish had a very critical turnover that gave Georgia a short field for an easy touchdown. The Irish defense held UGA to a total of 128 yds on offense..but we lost.

    Do they make battery operated TV's anymore. I used to have a 9 inch screen black and white that ran on 4 DCells. I don't think I've seen one in along time.

    Even if you had a generator to power your TV, will the stations have power!

    Probably the best thing to do is make friends with a network reporter those guys always have power!

    Uh....is that a compliment? I think not. :)

    Pretty funny article. Likely represents Georgia's version of NDN (no offense to Terry).

    <t>Well I guess we aren't the only group who have a significant amount of fan base who can never say anything good about their coach.</t>
