Well it's here again, another crucial game for the Irish this year. BC is a team we should beat, a team we can beat, but a team that will show up and play their best game of the year, that will have a very high intensity and emotion going for them.

As I said in another topic, we've never looked at B.C. with the same level of intensity as we do for Mich or USC, yet they look at us as there biggest game of the year. I think that lack of abilty to match the emotion and feelings that they have for us has really hurt us in the series. They are a good enough football team that if you don't come out and match their intensity and emotion you are in trouble no matter that your players have higher star ratings than their players.

The Irish have not yet played a complete game this year. We have played at best a half of a game. Last weeks 3rd qtr was a case in point. We gained less than 10 yds on offense after closing fast in the 1st half. That to me is what this team has to learn how to do, how to close out the enemy.

    To Hell with B.C.

I'm just hoping to win the coin toss and go from there.

    I'm still feeling like this

I am hoping that, with training, I will be able to handle this season like this

Seems to me that BC has been a thorn in the side of ND fans over the years.

Hopefully that will not be the case this time around.

No doubt Don that BC along with MSU have been thorns in the side of the Irish. We've actually have a better record vs Michigan.

This is a game that ND and Weis need desperately. Year in and out ND gets a load of recruits that are a level above BC yet that seem to own us.

This game speaks to the charges that Charlie does not get a high level of play out of his team and / or that he is not a good game day coach.

Chris Stewart a no go for BC.....come on down Trevor Robinson your chance is now, show me what you can do!!!

I see that BC has two huge DT's, not a good thing for our running game which has been spotty this year.

First guy I ever saw suffer a game ending injury jogging on to the field from the bench.

    Sounds like a baseball injury.

Once again it's time for that yearly struggle between the Catholics and the Jesuits.
I for one do not look down on the talent at BC. Thier QB from last year is right now the odds on favorite for rookie of the year in the NFL. And didn't they win almost as many bowl games in a row as we lost? That's impressive.
    Still......the hell with BC.

LOL! Glad you made the distinction.

Re: Ryan. I was at the BC game last year. We were in that game and had a chance to win, but Ryan took over and carried his team on his back to victory. He's a gamer. It does not surprise me that he is doing well in the NFL.

Sid beat me to it! LOL...

BTW: From what I'm reading Jimmy has a bad leg/foot/ankle and can't do running drills and push off on the leg. That kid is very tough.

How many teams that we've played this year were top 25 teams when we played them?

I believe Michigan State was. Pitt had just been knocked out and their win over us put them back in. And USC.

    So
We've PLAYED one team that was a top 25 when we played them. If we'd beaten Pitt of course they were not and probably wouldn't have been ranked again so if we'd beaten Pitt it wouldn't count but if we lost to them it does.

I think you understand my point, Gipper. This is CW's 4th season and he has beaten one ranked team in that period of time.

    ND/bc

<r>In my previous post I said that the Irish SHOULD win this game. Now that the game is almost upon us and having reassessed the situation, I think the Irish NEED to win this one and they need it badly.

This will be their 3rd shot at a team with a winning record and they have let the first 2 get away. We have better talent at almost every position. I know they are playing at night, on the road, and it is at BC but......this crap needs to stop and this is just the team(BC) to unload all your frustrations against. ND needs to come out firing on both sides of the ball and not let up till the final whistle blows!

CW and his staff need to pull out all the stops and stuff this BC team.
