Eh, nevermind. I actually thought it was a decent piece written by a Gator contributor for the benefit of other SEC fans while discussing ND.

I'll refrain from trying to add substance. We can just resume arguing over whether or not Florida would win the Super Bowl, or who has the ugliest women...Purdue or Indiana (which is ironically like debating which 20min oil change chain has the most teeth in their non-managerial positions).

    I'll be around.

Not head to toe...watching Purdue Clemson.

I don't disagree with anything in it. But sometimes you can only take so much. Thank God somebody in the midwest is finally worthy of being mentioned in the same breath with the vaunted SEC

Corey, nice article. I like his even-handed approach and his comparison of ND to the SEC teams. I especially like that he called out Rick Reilly and made an intelligent analysis of ND's schedule as illustrated in this comment....

Actually read an article that compared Florida and ND so much they called em the Florida Fighting Irish...etc...etc.

The Irish do seem to be cut from the same cloth as Bama, LSU and UF in terms of methodology.

Sent Corey an apology for my remark. I did not mean to direct that at him. The article still makes me feel that way but it was rude of me and implied that I was talking about him.

If there is anybody brutally objective and not gonna pull anyones crank it's Corey.

    I generally like Rick Reilly.

He obviously stepped in it in August but it's easy to mock him now. I'd be more impressed if he was taken to task then.

In 1998, it had been 51 years since the last Tennessee NC. 51 years from 98 is 2049. I'll be 91 years old if I am still around. I would like to see at least one more. :x

There's no need for an apology. I fully understand the frustration level with that mindset. I'm just trying to pull the pepper from gnat **** down here in the South.

Also, I am certainly not above pulling someone's crank. Admittedly, I'm tugging poor Dave around like I'm a mail order bride at times. Granted, I do it with facts and substance but I still do it... usually once he started it... usually.

As I recall it was because he felt that with all the criticism aimed at Alabama and the SEC about recruiting that it wasn't as much fun for him and he decided to lurk and not post for awhile.

KP if you are out there come in and enjoy your continued success.

I have communicated with Kp through PM and he is still out there but I do not know how much he lurks.

I wanted his opinion on how this Bama team fits in with the last several.....and only he can divulge that opinion if he so chooses.

If you participate or stalk the Game week hate thread on my page, you'll see KP there. I think he was having a good time. There's a lot of give and take there. I would imagine that he'll be popping in for whatever bowl games we decide to cover..

Guys? Thoughts on bowls or do we really try to pull a train and cover them all?

He's a solid football fan with a good knowledge of the game and a really good attitude about it all. I hope he makes it back here to the box, but in the meantime you can find him over there. The threads aren't for everyone. My only rule is absolute. For the most part, it's all game talk and jokes.. every now and then the Barbershop scene from Coming To America breaks out...which is why it may not be for everyone, but the football talk resumes after a bit.

hey y'all, well it certainly is easy to return when you're going to the NCG. If you are looking for an argument about who's going to win, then of course I think Alabama will win... a real newsflash I know, but beyond that I am really excited about this matchup. Much like the game with Georgia, I think Notre Dame and Alabama are a whole lot alike. Very good defenses, very good offenses. Nothing too flashy. Line up and whoever executes the best wins. This is alot like last years' BCSCG in that way. Anyway, I saw all of the stats and a lot of hard work went into that...I'm not sure what it tells us but I guess we have to do something for the next month. Anyway, I have been watching y'all and I did watch the game with Corey, Scott and Kesley and few other folks (virtually anyway) and it was fun. Thanks for thinking of me and I am really looking forward to 2 of the most tradition-steeped football programs in the country playing for the National Championship. Cumbaya, MFer's. 8)
