I'll get this started with a link to an article on where Rick Mirer is now....It makes you proud he's one of us. You have to read it. Rick Mirer
Rick's wines are marketed under the Mirror Winery lable. I've yet to see it in any local shops but if I see it, I'll certainly give it a try. Thanks for the post.
I used to be into wine and I noted that many of the small California wineries didn't produce enough to ship out of the state. You have to buy it locally. Not sure if that's the case with Ricks winery, but it's a possible explanation.
 If Tee Shepard's heart condition was too severe to play at Notre Dame, then what in the world are the doctors at Fresno State thinking? It seems like they're taking a terrible chance. http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/tee-shepard-has-heart-condition
Jaylon Smith <t>Help is on the way Corey. His name is Jaylon Smith:

On Saturday, the Irish picked up the verbal commitment of five-star outside linebacker Jaylon Smith of Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne, who made the announcement at the RAS Camp in Angola, Ind.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect chose Notre Dame over offers from Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida State, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC among others.

Nice huh?

Kid is the #1 OLB in the nation!

sweeeeeet!</t>
Fort Wayne......eh? I nominate Sid to take a crosstown road trip and check him out. If the kid is really the #1 OLB in the nation then he should stand out among all the kids that Sid has seen in the past.
As good as this commit is for ND, I cannot get excited about it because he goes to school at our crosstown arch rival, Bishop Luers. They don't like us, and we (Dwenger) don't like them. That aside, the kid is another one of those men among boys I (and we here) have seen over the years. He is a very good RB on offense. On D, he does his work in the trenches. Teams with prolific offenses, like Dwenger, find themselves unable to mount consistent drives because he is disrupting their running games. I saw his brother (currently at OSU) as a freshman running back at another local HS, and I knew at the time he was something special. He doesn't seem to have had much of an impact yet at OSU.
re: Shepard He apparently flunked the ND physical... re: Bishop Luers I know the feeling. Our cross-town archrival here is Bishop Amat, which has produced an endless line of pro talent since the 1950's. Among their graduates are: France Córdova President-Purdue University - Class of 1965 Carlos Pascual (U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, State Departmentenges in the futur’s Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs), Class of 1976 Maria Sachs Member of the Florida State Senate - Class of 1967 Troy Auzenne (NFL player) Eric Bieniemy (NFL player/coach) Ralph Brown (NFL player), Class of 1996 Allen Evangelista (actor) Pat Haden (football player/sportscaster/USC Athletic Director) Dan Haren (MLB pitcher) John Jackson (NFL player/Fox Sports broadcaster) Mike Lamb (MLB player), Class of 1993 Daylon McCutcheon (retired NFL player) John McKay, Jr. (USC Assistant Athletic Director/NFL player/son of football coach John McKay) Tamara Mello (actress) Kory Minor (NFL player) William Robinson (NFL player) Brian Russell (NFL player), Class of 1996 John Sciarra (retired NFL player) Ryan Smith (NFL player) Michael Young (MLB player - Texas Rangers) That list doesn't even mention Joey Getherall or hundreds of others. Ten years ago I attended a ND-USC game at the Coliseum and the Trojans had seven Bishop Amat players on their roster at the same time... UCLA had three BA starters that same year...
