I felt the same way, Gip. Speaking of time, apparently in college they stop the clock for certain happenings (injuries, corner kicks, etc.) that on higher levels would be played past the clock expiration as stoppage time. Is that correct?

Sid you're correct. In other parts of the world the clock goes forward while we run it backward. It used to drive me nuts watching World Cup games not knowing how long the injury stoppage was. Only the ref knew when the game was going to end.
Gip, I guess I'm so attuned from viewing other sports to watching a clock counting down that I was oblivious to the fact that it was different from the other soccer I've watched on TV.
