for the AD job at Duke.

There is cheering over on ND boards, right or wrong, Kevin White has been a flash point of criticism for ND fans. He was blamed for the coaching seaches that went wrong, for all the things ND fans don't like about our new scheduling philosophy. In short everything wrong with Notre Dame athletics has been put on him.

That aside, I'm suprised he's making the move to Duke. I'm sure Duke is a great place and that he'll be well compensated. But still leaving ND for Duke? That to me seems like a step down or at very best a lateral move. Maybe it's a money thing or maybe he wants to set him self up to retire in the North Carolina area eventually.

    Duke to Hire Kevin White

I find it interesting that Sid has been preparing himself, supposedly for retirement, at this critical time. Could Sid be the new AD at ND? :)

I'm not surprised but sorry to see himleave. If you look at his job performance overall such as the success of our hockey team, womans basketball team, baseball team and ladies soccer team, we've had some wonderful results. By far, ND athletics dominate the Big East every year. I don't feel that the football coaching hires were all his fault. I believe that Monk deserves a lot of the blame especially for Ty.
It is nice to know however that if Sid does not get the job there are hundreds of individuals that know exactly how to do the job especially when it comes to hiring coaches and scheduling. They can be found on ND Nation.

I have not had any conversations with the university. I have a job now coaching the Miami Dol.........er.........in Fort Wayne. Sorry about that. I took a correspondence course from the Nick Saban School of How to Communicate With the Public While Negotiating A New Job.

Actually, just between us, I'm afraid the sticking point might be my demand for free tickets to every home game for my Skybox ND brethren.

I have dispatched JIF, by train, to South Bend. He will meet with Fr. Jenkins and strongly express the family wishes that Sid be named AD. He's going to make him an offer......

    Sid, about those tickets.....

Except for football Duke is very competitive in a lot of sports. Basketball (mens and womens), soccer (mens and womens), lacrosse, baseball (so-so), softball, anyway it is probably a lateral move from ND. Actually, while Duke is probably a larger school that ND they seem to have similar reputations.
