My Dodgers have the worst record in baseball after the All-Star break. As the inter-league trade deadline nears, it becomes possible that the Dodgers could be sellers, rather than buyers of talent. What anyone would want to buy from us though, I can't imagine.

The Dodgers record since the break is now 1-10. The team has hit one HR; scored fewer than two runs per game; a "players only" meeting is underway in the clubhouse as I write this; and tonight they got beat by Jeff Weaver. Except for all that, everything is under control...

This isn't a fade. This is a head-first plunge off the cliff. I can't remember anything like this happening before. Vin Scully mentioned before tonight's game with the Cards, that Albert Pujols has 33HRs and the Dodgers starting lineup has 31 combined. There's a lot of reasons for this slump, but if I were in charge, I would begin to right the ship by firing Odalis Perez. You can't keep a cancer in the clubhouse: cancers spread. I would also trade most of the older guys and bring up all of the kids and write this season off...

Cardinals beat the Dodgers again today to SWEEP THE SEASON SERIES. The last time that the Dodgers were swept in a season series?

    The year was 1900...

A hard rain is gonna fall on the older players if they don't do a 180...pronto...

Well, that didn't take long. Immediately after the game, backup catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. was traded to the Chicago White Sox. He was a good and loyal player, so they did him a favor by trading him to his hometown. He lives in Chicago and the White Sox have a chance to win it all again. He was batting over .350 and should be able to help them in several roles.

No word yet on where they're trying to send Odalis Perez. The Hezzbollah Beirut Rockets are a possibility...
