I read about that Iowa kid, it was a really nice thing for him to do, and he did it in a game that was still in a little doubt so that was risky.

Also a good story about Haas and the Seizure dog.

There are others out there, the whole Iowa Childrens Hospital and their relationship with the Iowa football team and how they built the viewing area in the hospital so the kids could see the game/stadium.

All across the country there are stories like this, but they don't get the headlines like an athlete who does something wrong.

The Iowa story was on the national news tonight.

I watched the Purdue game and saw the in-game feature which talked about Isaac Haas' sister and what he and the Purdue faithful have done for her. A wonderful story about a kid with a heart as big as he is. I can't begin to imagine her life with the multiple (5 to 25 per Isaac) daily seizures. To know that the presence of a dog in her life has reduced the number to "only a couple" in itself is a blessing.

One thing I noticed, I only saw his parents seated, but it looks like neither parent is tall. The genes must be somewhere in the family tree. :)

No doubt all programs have stories that are positive. I just post the ones I have access to which is usually Purdue.

I am proud to have these kids be playing for my alma mater.

Was at a family wedding this past weekend and played golf with a Purdue Alum who's son was my nephew's best friend. He was at Purdue during the Herman years. I sat next to another Purdue alum at the reception, his wife is one of my sisters best friends, I forget when he was there but he's in his mid to late 60's. It was good talking with them, they both lament some of the hires that resulted in their opinion of the downfall of the football program. But both feel good about where it's going with the new AD and the Brohm at coach.

They both hope that if Brohm is successful that Purdue will step up in the money phase to make it so he's not likely to leave for Louisville, at least based on Louisville outbidding Purdue.

They were both sorry that the ND/Purdue rivalry which was huge when they were there, has gone by the wayside.

It's being reported out of Tuscaloosa that Alabama is in talks with both Texas and Notre Dame for a home and home series with each one. I haven't seen any details but that would be two good games.☺

Just the possibility sounds pretty cool.
