    No baseball...no soccer.....no football.....no Olympics.....no basketball or hockey...

I'm laying catatonic in my bed, staring at the ceiling; wondering what to do, now that the stock market has closed...

Yeah this time of year really sucks. In sports news, I signed Harlow up for tiny kickers soccer today. I also volunteered to coach.

Must feel better tonight with the All Star game on and the Dodgers seeming winning the Machado sweepstakes.

    :(

I feel worse tonight. I didn't watch the All-Star game. Steve Garvey made 10 All-Star teams and is the only player in history to be named All-Star MVP twice, and yet he's not in the HOF. How important can these exhibition games be?

Even worse, we gave up five top prospects to rent selfish baby Manny Machado... a guy we don't need and don't want. We lead the league in HRs without him. I've been dreading this. It looks like Yu Darvish all over again...

So this guy arrives in town and demands his number #13 which is worn by Max Muncy. Which American League Manny is this?

the pro golf/NBA off-season is just a terrible time of year. I think there's a big let down from the World Cup being so dramatic and fantastic, then nada until football starts.

I don't hate the Machado deal just yet, and I see he's wearing #8. I don't know where you're going to play him but the dude can flat out swing it.

Dodgers played Brewers tonight and they wouldn't pitch to him. Of the first 12 pitches only one was a strike and he banged that for a base hit...

I'm telling ya, Machado is legit. He has a great eye. He's a patient hitter and he makes pitchers pay for mistakes. That and he's only 26 years old. Not a bad pickup. We'll see how the team gels with him there.

BTW, there's an international soccer tournament going on around the US. Last night Borussia Dortmund beat Manchester City 1-0. I think Paris-St. Germaine is playing today against Bayern Munich.

Dortmund downs Liverpool 3-1 behind American super kid, Christian Pulisic, who scored 2 goals and had an assist.. all in the 2nd half as a sub.
