Another crock from a media chameleon. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I must defend the honor of people like me who are of average intellect and are guided only by common sense. These are the folks who are insulted by this writer's faulty rationalizations.

Like all media chameleons, he is looking to score points with his base readers in the Chicago area, who could give a rat's behind about OSU. He accomplished that objective. That's all he cares about.

OSU has paid a dear price for this infraction in terms of money, humiliation, and punishment (last year's self-imposed tournament ban). To say that ".....we'll pretend all the stuff in the past never happened....." is offensive to average joes like moi.

If the coach, AD and players are all different than the people who cheated, then what would be the point of penalizing them? They need to find a legal way of punishing coaches and ADs who do this stuff.

Not to mention some way of punishing the boosters, who keep doing this stuff for their own gratification even though it is hurting the schools and perhaps even the athletes, who are long-gone by the time it comes out.

    Stu,

I do not know that we will ever really be able to control this type of situation?
