The following email was sent to me and others in our class by a friend and classmate who works for the university:

    Dear Notre Dame Fans:

Today's South Bend Tribune has an item about Randy McCloy, Jr. the lone
survivor of the Sago (WV) mine disaster that killed 12 back in January:

Weis, who noticed McCloy wearing an ND cap in the footage shot at the
hospital, sent the Irish fan T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and a blanket, as
did other members of the ND Athletic Department. ND President Rev. John Jenkins
actually got the ball rolling by sending a personal letter to the family.

Now Jenkins, through Weis, has invited McCloy and his family to come to an Irish
    game this fall.

"We're working on the specifics of it", said family spokesperson Aly
Goodwin Gregg. "Randy very much wants to come".

McCloy is home with his family these days, undergoing rehab.

Goodwin Gregg said the McCloy family has been deluged with gifts, letters,
and money from Irish fans and alums.

You had to figure that was comming, I don't think I've seen a picture of him without his ND cap. Hope they can arrange a real nice trip and a win for him!
