Wow! Bears, Chiefs, Eagles, Browns, Chargers, Bills, maybe more to come.

I'm thinking of applying for a couple of the openings. Anybody want to join my staff?

AJ, I had you in mind more as a defensive coordinator. You're the best guy among the Skybox coaching candidates to instill toughness and meanness. That's what we need for an effective defense. My concern is that Nebraska may snatch you away before I land a job.

Ralph, no problem. With your involvement in agriculture, you can be the team nutritionist, making sure the guys eat the right foods and, because you know the markets, buying from the right sources at decent prices. That can be a M-F gig.

Everybody got fired, except the Jets coach. They're keeping him just to piss off George...

I'm guessing some of the fired coaches will show up in new HC jobs. Lovie Smith and Andy Reid come to mind. Guys like Crennel, Turner, Gailey, etc., will go back to being O and D coordinators.

I think Shurmer quite likely has a future. He and a very good GM (Heckert) were fired mostly because of a new owner and new president with their own ideas of what they want to do.

The Browns are going in a different direction. They are running out of directions to go. There are only 360 points on the compass. :?

Stu, since you brought it up, I was mildly surprised by the Shurmur firing. I thought the Browns had made progress this year, especially on the defensive side. I guess, as you said, it was because of the new regime.
