I think Clowney will be a complete bust.

Well I'll find out, but I also have questions about his work ethic and mental makeup.

Right now Johnny Football is doing his best Jimmy Clausen impression....free failling from the top 10.

Johnny Football at #22 Cleveland Browns. If he is unhappy now, it will only get worse in my opinion! Browns never seem to get a solid QB.

I really wanted Manziel to the Jets. I think he can do well in Cleveland.

I didn't think that JFF would go in the first round. I was surprised.

The Johnny and Josh Gordon duo should make fun times for Browns fans.

Yeah.... Rex Ryan just loves a Qb who likes to tuck and run for 6 yards...

Anyone surprised that Bortles was the first QB drafted?

I don't think I agree that Clowney will be a failure. He has some pretty special talent and no character issues I am aware of.

Vikings get Bridgewater as the last pick in the first round, he will get every opportunity there to succeed.

I think Clowney is a media creation. He parlayed one missed block by Tyler Lewan in a bowl game to instant fame.

His last year was a bust because he took half of the year off to save himself for the draft. That is a huge warning sign.

I know he was a combine superhero but so was Tony Mandarich.

Clowney could yet be a Mandarich..... but he sure had plenty of highlight plays on ESPN draft coverage other than "The Tackle".

In the NFL he cannot so easily be double-teamed etc.

From what I have seen of Bortles he would have been my first QB on the board.

I think JFF and Bridgewater went just about where I thought they would.

I think Bridgewater will excel in Minny while JFF has now been aligned with the graveyard of 1st round Qb busts...... Cleveland.

I would loved to have the seen the circus develop if Rex Ryan had gotten his feeble-minded hands on him. Johnny would be a mess by the end of the season.

Bill Belichick must be the biggest Gator fan in the NFL.

He drafted Dominique Easly in the first round when Dominique has had two ACL surgeries...... the last one a season killer he had last September.

Pundits are saying it was a great pick but I think his knees are obviously questionable to say the least.

Well I don't think Clowney is a steroid user like Mandrich turned out to be, but I do wonder if he has the mental makeup necessary for NFL success. Last season at So.Car was a big red flag, he was a big baby all year...the coaches weren't using him correctly, the other teams were running away from him, wah, wah, wah...Spurrier even publically commented on his work ethic but later retracted. And during the season he seemed frustrated with Clowney as well.

If Clowney has JJ Watts motor and work ethic...he'll go straight to the Hall of Fame. He does have as much physical talent and athleticism as anybody in recent memory.

Easly is a beast and probably was the most talented player on the field when healthy...He was killing Miami until he got hurt in last years game..

Irish fans and some draft "experts" had Stephon Tuitt going to New England with that pick.

I wonder what it says that BB took Easley with very questionablew knees over Tuitt.

MSU and Mich. combined only had 3 players drafted. Texas had none.

As an ND fan, I appreciate Bobda's heads up re: the MSU, MI, and TX dearth of draft picks. It harkens back to the recent "dark era" of ND football (1997-circa 2009) when mediocrity prevailed, and with few exceptions the NFL did not find ND players desirable.

My point is that even the historically elite programs are susceptible to "dark eras". I just wonder if the pundits will write the epitaphs for MSU, MI, and TX football like they did for ND.

Buckeyes ended up with six players being drafted to lead the BIg Ten conference.
