Kiper has his latest 3 round draft up...

All the talk has been about the QB's of course, the top 4 supposedly being Trubisky of UNC, Watson of Clemson, Mahomes of Texas Tech and Deshone Kizer of Notre Dame.

Kiper now predicts only Trubisky will go in the 1st round, and he will go to the Browns with their 2nd pick of the 1st round. Watson to the Jets in the 2nd round, Mahomes to San Francisco in round 2, Kizer to the Chiefs in round 3...and the Texans take Nathan Peterman from Pitt late in the 2nd round.

I'll really be pissed if the Texans pass on Kizer in the 2nd round for Peterman. Watching Pitt vs ND, I don't see anything good about the kid, I'm sure his momma loves him but NFL QB for a team that desperately needs a young QB to develop...no way.

Seems to me that leaving school early to be taken in the 3rd round doesn't make that much sense. At least he didn't transfer to FSU. :)

Seeing that Josh Dobbs of Tenn may be a first rounder.

Dobbs...no way is he a 1st round choice.

As far as Kizer going in the 3rd round, it is surprising to me. Granted he didn't have a sterling season, but it wasn't all on him he had a bunch of new WR's instead of Will Fuller. But Jimmy Clausen did the same thing, and then there was Darius Walker who had good career at ND as a RB, and surprised Weis by declaring for the draft, Weis told him he wasn't ready. Well he wasn't and he didn't get drafted at all.

I don't see a real 1st Round QB in this years draft. On the other hand, that has never stopped the Jets and Browns before...

Looks like the Buckeyes might have three defensive backs drafted in the first round? Lattimore, Conley and Hooker

Kizer is boom or bust. I don't think he was in any way ready for this even though I think he threw the best ball in college football last season.

His judgement is a little shaky and his second half vs first half stats are a red flag. Could be the next Mark Sanchez.

Too late now. Ready or not.

Woah...I guess Kizer does not lack self confidence:

    re: Kizer

I would not draft him in the first three rounds. I can't even remember the last time that Irish fans felt this way about a departing QB. We're not going to miss him one bit...

I would like the Texans to take him in the 2nd round if he is available. He's not helped himself with some of his comments and his coach Brian Kelly didn't help very much either. So maybe everybody will stand off on him and he'll drop to the 3rd round. I have a hard time seeing him going later than the 3rd round as he has some much physical talent. I really don't think he's a head case, but what do I know.

McShay has Trubisky going overall #1 to the Browns now, not Myles Garrett. That is a huge risk for them. Trubisky is no where close to being the #1 overall player in this draft, none of the QB's are either.

The Browns organization has a notorious reputation for making bad picks on Quarterbacks!

My takeaway memory of Kizer, unfortunately, will be his final game against USC where he mailed in a half ass effort for a quarter and half and then just quit.

Anybody who has played sports knows what a guy looks like on the field when he quits in the middle of contest.

You've probably caught the same drift that I have about Kizer, that is that he wasn't esp popular amongst his teammates. I started hearing this a few games after his amazing finish vs UVA. The better he did and the more publicity he got the bigger his head got. I think that might have been the source of Kelly saying he had some maturity on and off the field he needed to grow before he was ready to leave college.

His interview by Jac Collingsworth at the Blue and Gold game was IMHO not a very good one. Jac tried his best to tee it up for him but he kept on with the I am the greatest (potentially). I still think he has a ton of talent, he just needs to mature and work hard. He definitely can use a few years as the backup somewhere like Aaron Rodgers before he's likely ready for being a starter.

I would love to see an Aggie go #1, but I can't wish Cleveland on Myles, so I sure hope all the rumors are true and they go with the QB.

At this point you have to expect whoever the Browns drafts to say "Oh crap... I must suck!"

Watson watching Trubisky and Mahomes go before him, he has to be hoping that he doesn't slip way down the board...has to be hoping the Browns take him at #12.

Watson to the Texans, we trade up to get him. I loved this guy as a college QB but I fear that he's not a pro QB. But what do I know, O'Brien is the QB whisper.

Three defensive back for Ohio State go in first round. I thought Conley was going to get screwed by the potential rape charges, but Oakland drafted him anyway. I do hope the pending rape news is false, but he is one lucky young man in my opinion.

yeah pretty surprising that Conley went in the 1st round. No doubt about his talent, but with that rape hanging over his head you just don't know what the future is for him.

Terry, re: Watson. I'm reading some positive stuff about him After watching him in the NC game, as an unbiased observer, I would think he has real potential in the NFL. As a fan of Houston's conference opponent, I hope he's adequate but not great. :D
