Interesting list and hard to argue most of them.... like Peyton Manning being the best all-time overall number 1 pick and Emmitt Smith at number 17.... http://www.gatorsports.com/2019/04/couple-of-gators-on-best-nfl-draft-picks-1-32/
Irish have 1, Alan Page, on that list. He was a College HOF player and a Pro HOF player. But even more impressive is that after ND he obtained his law degree and eventually was a Supreme Court Justice in Minnesota. Interesting to note that they list Joe Montana as the best 3rd round pick ever, and Tom Brady as the best 6th round pick ever, Johnny Unitas the best 9th round and Roger Staubach as the best 10th round. In today's NFL they would have been UDFA's.
Alan Page was one of the Viking's Purple People Eaters..... still a pretty cool nickname... Hard to believe all of those great great HOF Qbs going so late in their drafts.
Buckeyes end up with two players being drafted in the first round, Nick Bosa and Dwayne Haskins. That ties us with USC for the most players drafted in the first round since the draft commenced.
Not a single CB taken in the 1st round. That doesn't happen very often. So you can bet that 2nd round is going to be CB heavy.
I see the number one draftee, Kyler Murray, was the lowest rated QB on the Wonderlic scale with a 20. That's not good.
Heisman hype Kp! I too will be very surprised if he makes it in the NFL. Now Haskins on the other hand
The big winner here is the Dolphins. They picked up Josh Rosen for a 2nd Round pick. BTW- I agree that Murray won't make it in the NFL. Haskins will make it eventually, but he came out too soon. He needed another year in college IMHO.
Haskins will make it eventually, but he came out too soon. He needed another year in college IMHO. Jim, I think most of us Ohio State fans have similar feelings.
If the 'skins do with him what the Chiefs did with Patrick Mahomes, that is sit him for his 1st season to get him acclimated to the Pro game he'll be fine. But that might be hard to do, so he's going to have to take his lumps and learn on the run. I'm sure his advisors told him he couldn't improve his draft status by staying another year, and he might hurt it if Ohio State slips back a little with the change from Urban to Ryan Day or...he could get injured.
