I bought my wife and I the new 12.9" iPad Pro (This way we can message each other from one room to the next...Not really..)

First thing is it's big and pretty much the same thing as the iPad Air we currently use. It has improved speakers and a much faster processor that loads all of today's gifs and videos faster than the iPad Air. But it's kinda bulky and a bit heavy which makes the transition from the smaller iPad difficult at best...After a few weeks it's become comfortable but check it out first before considering one...

I would recommend it because of the improvements in speed, picture quality and improved battery but would test it out at the store first...

Lol, yeah, yeah I hear ya....I did notice that during the Shot Show in Vegas last week Siri was not allowed to give information on it...It seems our Liberal Overlords at Apple designated it a taboo topic....

I wonder if I can grow me one of those Hare Krishna rat tails.... :p And lmao at the beggar pot for iTunes....

I went over to the dark side a couple of years ago.

It started out with an iPad for my wife...then a mini iPad for me...then switched from Android to iPhone...then I finally got frustrated at the Blue Screen of Death and long boot times and switched from Windows to Mac.

Overall I think I still like the switch...but your "cult" references are right. All the Apple aficionados told me how everything just works together so smoothly...just plug it in or install the new program and no hassles.

I have not found it to be so...some of the same crazy incompatibilities and system setting problems that plague Windows can frustrate you in Mac Os.

And just like my Windows computers slowing down after a couple of years, I notice the same thing with my Macbook as it gets a little longer in the tooth and the hard drive gets loaded with more data.

But I don't miss the Blue Screen of Death. And boot times are much quicker.

I DO like the fact that it's easier to find help with the accessibility of Apple stores and their Genius Bars. I was pretty amazed at how they transferred all my data from the Dell to the Mac...it was seamless.

The stupid thing is...I still have a program (Quicken) that I am not as happy with the Mac version as the Windows version...so I still have Windows 10 on my Macbook and run it with Parallels software.

And Apple stuff is more expensive.

I have been impressed with the boot speed of Win 10.
Not so sure about calling programs "apps" but I guess they figured they better go down that path or watch Android pass them by.

My wife had an imac for school.
One thing I will give them... They don't get hot like PCs...

Not an issue for my desktop... It has a liquid cooled processor.

I missed this topic some how.

I can't bring myself to buy into the Mac world. Has more to do with I like options, Apples says this is what you should want why do you need options! Plus I read Jobs Biography, he was not a nice man.

Most of my nieces and nephews are Apple people, now. They love their Mac's and Ipads, etc.

I'm just fine with my Windows 10 and I have the equivalent of an IPad Pro for portability.

One of my nieces had a MacBook Pro that she had to take back 3 or 4 times for HD failures. They were nice to her but she was in Architecture School and it was a major PIA.

Hard to argue the negatives of Apple as it's a nazi in total control over its product and refuses to play with any and all other source material.

But that doesn't take away the masterpiece it is in how easy it is to use and interface with the user. I've gone from a desktop, to laptop and now I'm on my 3rd version of the iPad and it's much faster, bigger and enjoyable...Plus the almost non existent chance at getting a virus....
