Mother of God-- first Rutgers beats us in football, and today in Ann Arbor the New Friggen Jersey Institute of Technology beats the 17th ranked Wolverines in basketball 72-70.

I wonder if even George knows where NJIT is located?

Time to take Lloyd out for a long walk.

    Bobda,

When I saw that score, I could not identify Michigan's opponent? Maybe that will be a wake-up call for the Wolverines.

I still think they will be a force in th B1G TEN this year.

I recall that several years ago (not sure how many), NJIT had the nation's longest losing streak. Obviously, they've improved.

They are located in Newark. No less than 11 people have been shot in Newark this week. Very small school.

I was not aware they even had sports teams.

Governor Christie was all over FaceBook touting this one.

When I saw that score, I thought it was a typo. Then I checked the calendar for April Fool's Day. Now I'm just confused. I confess that I have never heard of a school called NJIT. What's their mascot? The Invisible Man?

The Highlanders. This was just a warm up game. Their next game is against St. Francis of Brooklyn. 8)

My God...St. Francis of Effing Brooklyn.

If the dog comes back without Bobda, we'll have to organize a search party...

I guess the debate at the Milwaukee dog park tomorrow will be what is worse--losing at home in Bball to the the Newark Institute of Technology or getting curb stomped on national TV 59-0 to the Buckeyes in the BT title game.

Corey, Michigan hockey has also been pretty mediocre this year.

Jo Co, not ready to cash it in just yet. I think the suicide protocol in this state is to eat massive amounts of cheese curds until your heart gives out but I do not think I have the stomach for that...

    Bobda,

On the Notre Dame Blue-Gold BB this morning there are actually topics where it is being argued that Brian Kelly is a better coach than Urban Meyer. There is also a topic that was posted before the game started rallying everyone behind Florida State over Ga Tech just so Ohio State would be closed out of the playoffs.

It is embarassing for some of us Irish fans today too and our season is basically over for weeks now.

    Hang in there :?

I went to their webpage and came away pretty impressed. This isn't some community college like place in an old wharehouse. It's pretty impressive when you look at their undergraduate majors. Now I don't know how hard it is to get into, the web says their acceptance rate is almost 70% which is extremely high, even Jif could get in there. They have fewer than 10K students.

Funny story from the NJIT coach re a Sparty alum cop in Ann Arbor:

    *************************************************

SI.com: Your team pulled off the biggest upset of the season by winning at Michigan on Saturday. At what point did you honestly think to yourself you had a chance to win?

Engles: Wow. When it hit zero-zero-zero? This is my seventh year here. It’s hard to let down your guard because I’ve seen a lot of things. At one point in the first half when we were leading, I turned to a fan and said, “Can you take a picture of the scoreboard and put it on Instagram for me?”

SI.com: So what did it feel like when the final buzzer went off?

Engles: Totally surreal. The cop there who was assigned to me, every time we scored I’d look over at him, and he was cheering. At halftime I said to him, “What are you doing?” He said, “I went to Michigan State, dude.” After the game, he gave me a big hug.
