I'm not sure how much significant news can come from spring practice, but there is one development worth mentioning.....the move of Munir Prince to CB. Certainly the speed is there, and he apparently played the position very well in HS. Any thoughts?
Willie Clark. He was one of Lou's players, he was fast (really fast) and a lot of people thought he had Rocket like potential. But Lou also had DB problems and just when it seemed like Willie was going to really have a role on the offense, he was moved to defense. Bottom line was Willie was one the fastest most elusive players on the team but not really a very good DB, he hardly ever saw the field and was to say the least one of the biggest waste of talent during Lou's tenure. No kid wants to be the next Willie Clark.
Now I remember. He obviously had a very forgettable career. If I did not recall him, I certainly don't recall the circumstances. Prince was an all-state DB in his HS junior year, and he requested the position move. Time will tell. The good news to be gleaned from this is that the RB position must be looking OK with Thomas, Aldridge, Allen et al, if Coach Weis is so willing to grant Prince's request.
Well Tony Driver actually had a good ND career when he switched to Safety, if you remember in his first game he picked Purdue's Drew Brees twice to win the game for the Irish. Willie Clark was all talent and no production...maybe not his fault though.
