This is championship week. Most of the top teams already have their tickets punched but there are always a few who make a run in a conference tourney and sneak in to the dance. I see that Gonzaga and St. Mary's are playing later tonight for the WCC title, and autobid. Both are already in but Gonzaga needs the win to seal a #1 seed. In the ACC I think everybody agree's that UNC,Louisville,FSU, ND, Duke, UVA, VaTech, Miami and Syracuse are in...Wake Forrest and Ga. Tech maybe maybe not...winning a couple of games in the ACC tourney would seal if for them.
Bah... The Aggies have fallen back into the abyss. Basketball is one of the sports I can't get interested in when my team sux. And we do... :x
According to Jay Bilas these are the only teams with a real shot at the Final Four 1. North Carolina Tar Heels 2. Villanova Wildcats 3. Kansas Jayhawks 4. Oregon Ducks 5. UCLA Bruins 6. Louisville Cardinals 7. Gonzaga Bulldogs
Gators ended the season with a loss to Vandy after leading by 12 halfway through the second half. If all the seeds go as projected in the SEC tournament we will play them again in our first game. At this time I think we are looking at a 4 seed.
Scott thinks his Aggies suck, Ohio State basketball has finally ended, thanks to losing to the last place Rutgers in the first game of the Big Ten Tournament. The last two seasons have been the most disappointing basketball I can ever remember!
Yeah some bad teams for members. A few good ones. Irish had a good season. Play UVA tonight. Have never beaten them, so it would be a good time to start!!! Bill's Gators actually have had a good season as well. Corey's/JO"Co UCLA have been great. So it's not all bad!
Don't worry Don, the Bucks will have some company on the "bench" after we play Vanderbilt tonight. :x
In Skybox teams having a bad year...I'd have to add Tim Gentry's Hoosiers and in those having a great year you'd have to put Stu's Boilermakers. Bobda's UM squad is fortuneately intact and ready to go after a harrowing incident on the runway. I have to wonder how hard Belin had to work to convince guys to get back on a plane today.
Michigan looked loose, relaxed, and played an outstanding game today. They had to play in practice uniforms and backup shoes because everything had to be left on the plane pending NTSB investigation. Don't think I wanna play them tomorrow.
Tim Gentry's Hoosiers looked good tonight dismantling Iowa. Unfortunately, per the ESPN guru, unless they reach the championship game, they won't get in. Maybe not even then.
If I were a player, I would have been pretty leery about getting on today's flight after going through that experience.
Big win by the Irish tonight. Could have been just the law of averages. In any event, first win over UVa since 1981....whew.
The Aggies completed their nosedive into the hard deck last night with a 20+ point loss. 1 tourney appearance in 6 seasons should spell the end of the Billy Kennedy era but he somehow managed a fat contract that will keep him in place at least one more year. Considering we had been to the tourney six straight times prior to his arrival... Ugh.... :x
