NBC looks to pair the rights to ND football with the Big 10. Never thought I would see it.

NBC views the combination of the Big Ten along with its existing deal with Notre Dame football as the “perfect one-two punch,” said one source. With its $100 million-per-year deal with the NHL off the books, NBC has the cash and ambition to boost its college portfolio.

The real question is how many will watch if the sport continues down the current path of free agents and big money. Loyalty was a big part of college football. If your team will be made up of a different batch of mercenaries every season... I don't see myself following too closely.

I can see how they want to fill the Saturdays that ND is playing on the road but, often they've filled with the Breeder's Cup, Ryder Cup etc. I wonder if they're ending their affiliations with those events.

Buckeye fans have been quick to dislike noon time games on Fox. Something will have to give in my opinion. Fox will not be able to match NBC when it comes to money.

Don, totally agree with your fans on 11-12 kickoff games - they are terrible.

Don't mind the noon games to watch on TV but attending one in Florida can sure be miserable with the heat.

In the South those early starts are brutal, back when I was in school we didn't play day games in September.

But back then TV wasn't a concern, I think our first day game was when we went to Dallas for the OU game.
