Bobda and Tenn Tom will love this, not sure about Jiffer...

George and Corey made some good points about our ability to protect ourselves in this country in the Bin Laden topic.

    Here's a some fun stats:

The U.S. Marine Corps has approxiamately 177,000 active duty Marines, each assigned a T/O weapon dependent on Rank, either a M-16 A-2 rifle, or a Barretta 9mm pistol. This doesn't include all the other accessories they have such as Tanks, grenades, artillery, etc.,

I heard or read this recently:

The state of Wisconsin issued out 375,000 individual Deer permits the last year. That's a rifle per person, with at least one (1) box of rounds, in just one state out of 50.

Talk about a Volunteer Militia Reserve.

Note to enemies of America: You can try it, but you ain't gonna like it.

    Notwithstanding.....

True story from last week on the New Jersey Turnpike. A state trooper pulls over a van for speeding. When he walks up he notices the van has six hispanic gentlemen aboard. All are El Salvadorans. The driver has a green card. Nobody else has anything except personal ID. The trooper calls for backup and runs whatever background checks he can. He learns that two of the passengers are convicted felons who have been previously deported. Now they line them all up and call ICE because this situation automatically defers to them.

ICE tells them to cut them loose. The reason: They don't have the manpower or facilities to process them . The trooper gives the driver a speeding ticket and watches them drive away.
