    Jefferson's writings....what would he be saying today? It would seem that the more we stray from the guiding principles of the Founding Fathers the bigger is the mess in which we find ourselves.....

    I get your point. He wouldn't stand a chance if he ran for office today. People would say he was a racist wacko, crazier than Ron Paul.

    He'd be eviscerated by the mainstream media, MSNBC, Chris Matthews et al would scoff.....

    An unimposing man physically and a hesitant and uninspiring public speaker, you're right, the poor man wouldn't stand a chance seeking public office today......look at what we've done to ourselves.

    I think it fair to suggest that today we have his exact polar opposite in office as our chief executive.....look at what we've done to ourselves.
