I hit the Master's ticket lottery this year...4 tix to Wednesday's practice round and the Par 3 tournament (at face value; $50 each)...with two of my boys and a good friend...then we are gonna do 3 days of golf at Calloway Gardens.

Tickets to this year's BCS Championship game were worth a mention in that article. I should have made the house payment instead. :)
Great news about your Masters tix. I've been to 3 practice rounds but never the Wed. one.

I wonder if Bubba will have one of these at the Masters? :)

Yeah, Terry...our wives got us tix to the Wed Practice round in 2010. They didn't get them for face value but didn't pay nearly what is quoted in the article. I don't know if they have gone up that much or the girls just got them early. I think they paid $200 or $300 apiece on stubhub or ebay. Not sure.

That's when we found out about the ticket lottery and started entering it each year. You can get 4 tix to a practice round but if you hit the competition itself you only get 2.

Here's a picture of Jeremy (FlaBucks) on the 15th hole (at the spectator crossover). You can tell it's a pose because anybody who knows Jer knows that he would never lay up on a par 5. :D

He and Mike are both about 7's. Jeremy is a bit longer and Michael is a bit more consistent. Both have really good short games.

Proves golf is not genetic. I am short and wild off the tee...hit my irons fat, thin, left, and right...and my short game sux except for putting. My typical round is 6 pars, 6 bogeys, and 6 blowups.

    I used to be a 12. Am now more of a 17.

If you hook or slice...DON"T DRIVE

    How'd you shoot today? Often.

The two best balls I ever hit it is when I stepped on that rake.

Part of the problem is you're dressed wrong...you need a big orange wig, big ol' baggy pants, and yellow floppy shoes, cause if you're gonna play like a clown, dress like one.

I only shoot in the 80's....anything warmer than that I just go back to the clubhouse.

    PUTTING:

Dolly Parton putt: When the ball goes all the way around the cup and drops in, it is deemed to have used ALL THE CUP

Liprosy: What you accuse the ball of having when it lips out.

Missed putt: That ball was afraid of the dark.

If you are watching this weekends tourney in San Antonio, the Valero Texas Open...I have played that course. It's a course that I don't want to play again. I know we all like a challenge on great golf courses, but that course was just flat out no fun for me.

The fairways are narrow and the rough is deep. I hit balls that I could see hop into the rough only a few feet off the fairway and I couldn't find them.

#12...2 bunkers guarding the green. I was in the right bunker in 3, and in the left bunker in 4 and in the right bunker in 5 and almost in the left bunker in six and finally down in 9. They have removed two ridges from that green that made it almost impossible to play.

#18...I hit my best drive of the day, but I didn't have enough club to clear that creek in front of the green, so I laid up. Then I turned my pitching wedge into a 5 iron and skulled it over the green, but I chipped in for birdie. Those are my highs and lows.

The thing I hated most about the course was the rough being so punative as I said you could literally lose your ball off the tee when you saw pretty much where it landed. And the second thing I hated were the greens. so much undulation and too fast for me.

$150 they won't be getting from me again! :)
