Hey congratulations, that was an amazing comeback. The Red Sox look good going into the World Series. The Sox have shown they can never be counted out. Good luck.
Have the Sox ever played at altitude like Denver? Could be a factor. Congrats though on the big comeback Jiffer and BDR. I know you guys are very happy campers right now. 8)
The Stanford game was a microcosm of the season, Larry. My Dad got good seats, 20 rows up on the shade side of the stadium (important for a 4pm game in 80 degree weather). The 'Cats came out and played well, moving the ball, but then they would sputter. And when an opportunity would present itself, like a Stanford fumble on their own end of the field, the 'Cats didn't use their heads. In this case, Louis Holmes tried to pick up the ball and run with it, only to see it fallen on by a Stanford player. Watching the game was like walking down a steep hill that's covered with ice. You know what's coming; you just don't know when. Sure enough, a long drive sputtered and resulted in only a field goal. An interception to stop a Stanford drive deep in Arizona territory was followed by three-and-out. Not controlling the clock at the end of the first half allowed Stanford to score and go up. After taking the lead back and holding it for most of the second half a chance to add some breathing room after another interception late in the game went awry when a 29-freaking-yard field goal was missed. I was happy to be there, but it was (and has been) tough, nonetheless. We play U-Dub today and sure enough, like every game I think this will be the one where we put something together and start to turn the corner. I'm glad you enjoyed Dillon Dam Brewery. We had a great visit there ourselves.
