 I lightened up a little bit, but I think we can ride this one out until football season, collecting dividends all the way. The economy is growing slowly, which is better than not growing at all... I added a tad yesterday to EMC, BA and KITD.
Jim... EMC is good stuff...I was day trading it several years ago when it was in single digits...sorry i didnt hold!!
Joel, I agree about EMC. I was trading it too, but now I just hold. EMC is the cloud and the cloud is the future. They also own VMware, which is a cheaper way to buy it. I love EMC...

I love my safesforce..... By the way guys he is too modest to tell you but his 8th grade class was the highest benchmark scores in the district. not bad for an old dud who loves a good history story / and not bad for taking a school who couldnt pass the test 5 years ago to being # 1.... Love Ya... Joco now go back and earn that big salary Dave thinks you get/////

Bri has 2 games Sat and Meg graduates on Sunday see ya soon
You read me wrong Mrs. I wouldn't want my son teaching at the pay rate that Jo'Co makes. That said at least he doesn't teach in Florida: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_education_edblog/2011/02/fl-ranks-41st-on-per-pupil-spending-in-latest-nea-figures.html So this state is 41st out of 51 and yet our Gov. Scott and his GOP legislature have implemented tremedous cuts to the state's school budgets so I expect that next year Florida may slide even further toward the bottom of the list. But hey.....as you all say....if you ain't got it.....cut it. This just gets better and better.
But of course a far better option is if you ain't got it, spend more.......or perhaps take it forcibly from your citizens and ensure that you have ever decreasing amounts to spend in the future unless of course you choose to borrow ever increasing amounts from the Chi-coms who of course are only looking after our best interests......how is your Mandarin? At what point do the tax and spenders ever "get it"? The weakness of the dollar is evidencing our vulnerability, the IMF has expressed concerns and has compared us unfavorably to tottering European social democracies and the rating agencies have put us on negative outlook for the first time ever......what exactly is it that you need to appreciate the significance of the problem? Seriously?! The public sector is on a trajectory to devour the private sector economy....the very - and only I might add - source of the public sectors ability to fund ANYTHING - including national defense.....there is a point at which it becomes too late to address the problem without armageddon-like circumstances and in my humble opinion, we are rapidly approaching.
Oh...I get it all right. We're going down the the toilet when it comes to world competition and it starts with the education of our children. I sure hope those Chinese have some fruit to pick because we will be a nation of a minute minority of very very rich and a huge fruit pickin majority. The separation between the top and bottom has never been bigger in this country. But hey......lets protect the ultra rich and big corpoartions from paying into that debt you mention or god forbid the education of our children. Listen.....I think it stinks that a state of 18 million is headed from terrible to worst when it comes to education expenditures. I don't know why I should like that.
I think it's typical that GOP elite think all fruit pickers can afford private education.... Here is just one of many articles on the subject: http://www.uscatholic.org/blog/2011/05/us-wealth-gap-moral-scandal The top 10% own more than 75% of the wealth. That gap is growing ever wider and still there are many naive people out there in the other 90% voting GOP when the GOP couldn't give two sh*ts about them. When those hoodwinked voters ever get it figured out the GOP will be toast.
Once again you go off the reservation with another of your absurd statements....no reason to respond to something like that....carry on.
One thing MCG never factors in is personal accountability and that is a cornerstone of the liberal doctrine. Other people's money. Christ, don't you EVER get tired of that old refrain?
How do you extract that nonsense from what I am saying here? My son is entering 9th grade next year in a state that already is in the bottom 20% when it comes to public school spending per pupil and I resent the fact that the state government would like to see that drop to maybe the nation's bottom 5%. Seems pretty reasonable I might not like such a development.
So, Dave, how would you suggest that the money be raised to pay for higher spending to bring the Florida school system up to par?
Well.....they don't sell enough donuts to raise that kind of money. It's a good bet other money left in the budget was targeted for items not as worthy. Then again.....that ugly word tax could be a part of the solution. We did have tax accountability in my old neighborhood in Michigan because we had one of the best public school systems in the state and we never defeated a school millage increase in the 28 years I owned a home in that area.....so in a very direct way we did pay to ensure the welfare of our kids going to school in our neighborhood. It's a tough problem but I'm not willing to just thrown in the towel and say that as a state or as a nation when it comes to important things like education..... ...."we suck".
